Amazing restaurant!
I guess there are two Peruvian restaurants with Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand award in Tokyo, and this is one of them.
Finally a little diversity here! We can not only eat Japanese and French food. I am glad I have discovered such a delicious cuisine.
This place is quite nice, and suitable for dates, important meetings or having a nice evening with your special ones. I guess currently opening hours are limited, and, hence making a reservation in short time is difficult. But, if you do, it’s worth it.
I have tried ceviche first. It is delicious and is close to Mediterranean taste in general with its some sort of cilantro and lemon juice. Pisco sour is supposed to be their traditional drink, and is delicious. I would not mind drinking it regularly. Limo Saltado is another delight with similarities to Mediterranean cuisine. I loved how even potatoes had a distinguishing taste. Rice was also super delicious. This is a restaurant that really cares about ingredients quality and taste. Arroz con pato had nicely baked duck ( as you can see in the photo) with rice. A Peruvian friend think this dish is even superior than the one in their country. I think the desert was ice cream with lukuma. In short, all meals were awesome, and you should not think twice to make a reservation.
Meal sizes are very big. I think it will be enough even for foreign guys. If you are not one; it is enough for two people to share a ceviche and a main dish. However, taste is also too good, so like I did, you might feel greedy, and ask your own main, and finish it too! I will visit this place whenever I can.
I have visited here twice, ordered from menu, and paid around 5000 yen each time, that included a pisco sour drink. What you pay is quite reasonable for...
Read moreWe tried A Christmas Special Course. Food and the quality of products and textures were great, no doubt that. It's a great restaurant to visit in Tokyo and the Chef there definitely knows what he's doing :) I definitely recommend to check out pisco and Peruvian cava. They were goood.
The staff was very sweet and welcoming also, but I guess most of them were new and not fully trained yet, because they seemed panicking and forgetting things. Like we were always lacking something during our dinner and had to ask the staff to bring things to us. (For example the table near us was fully set from the begging and they didn't have to call waiters all the time). Like we had no drink menu, no chopsticks, no fork, no water 🤭 I was also very confused every time the wine was ordered, as it wasn't poured in front of us and the bottle wasn't shown either. (We had to ask to look at the bottle ourselves) Instead stuff was pouring it on their stations, away from tables, using kitchen scales to weight the amount of wine in the glass and when they overpour a little, they were adjusting the level, by pouring the wine out to a different glass. 😳 I've never seen that anywhere before 🤭 Oh, also had a little issue with a paper holder in the toilet 🥲 It was so rusty and had a lot of dust on it. It touches the paper and doesn't seem very hygienic.
Overall it's a nice restaurant and definitely a good place for enyone who loves or wants to be introduced to...
Read moreSlow staff, bad service, food is just so so. You're much better off going to ワンチャコ in Shinokubo or 川崎 ペルー料理店 EL carbon in Kawasaki. Never going back here again when there are tastier, cheaper options in more convenient locations. If you're attracted by Becopah's decor, eat at a real Peruvian restaurant first and used the money saved to go to a nice bar too instead.
Details: There's a one drink per person minimum. However when we tried to order, half of the drink menu was unavailable. We then tried to ask if we could substitute with desserts instead but the staff refused. At this point I would have normally walked out of the restaurant if not for the group I was with being hungry.
Service was super slow, 2.5 hours total despite us asking them to just bring everything at once after we got tired of waiting. Ceviche was actually half fried seafood (weird), grilled meat platter was ok but other places are better. Lomo saltado was also just so so. We also tried 3 desserts. The sherbert was actually pretty good but banana bread thing and pudding...
