We were a group of three waiting to be seated, but there was a Japanese gentleman too eager to get in even though he was just behind us, the waitress had to gave us counter seats, which I agreed. However, shortly after we were seated, I noticed a couple of tables had just freed up, and asked to be moved there. The waitress then proceeded to give some lame excuse about having to save the tables for customers lining up outside and whatnot, but we hadn't even ordered food or gotten our water at that point, what was so difficult about moving ? Especially since they hurried us into the counter seat in order to accomodate for the other Japanese guy who kept on nagging about "but the counter is empty!" I watched that table being empty all the way up until we finished our meal and stood up. A bunch of 2-person parties got seated at tables, but somehow our family of 3 had to put up with counter seats because the waitress(es) can't be bothered.
And when I was paying the bill, the waitress in charge of that (a different person from the busser) was straight up glaring at me. I'm sorry for having the audacity to ask to move to an empty table and create unnecessary hassle for y'all, I guess ? Didn't even bother to acknowledge or send us off with a "thank you" on the way...
Read moreThe concept is nice but the quality of the food was disappointing. I ordered the steak pie, comes with two sides (I chose fries and coleslaw), and my companion chose a burger with fries. We also ordered a apple crumble for dessert. The steak pie was missing half of the bottom crust of an already 3x3x4 in. small cut, the steak was black to one side, and the entire thing was hard and dry. Also, warm at best. The fries were well done, which I like but I know many don't. The coleslaw was good. My companion's burger was very rare on the inside which we like but I think it was still closer to the raw side and it did give my companion a stomach ache after. Fries were similarly well done. The apple crumble tasted good but was colder than room temperature. I asked if they were usually cold and they said yes, but I think it was just out of fridge cold. I read other reviews and it seems like the burger inconsistency was common but I was most saddened by the steak pie. It did not taste like home.

Read moreOne of the worst experiences in Tokyo. I had the blue cheese burger with fries: it had a tasteless, almost dry thin meat pattie. Luckily, got a bit of taste from the blue cheese. My partner had the Bubby's burger. He wasn't so lucky: his was tasteless without salvation. Burgers came almost cold. Worst yet, the fries were downright COLD (and tastless as well). They forgot to bring our beer, we had to call them twice. Overall, a fallen place. Tell me, what restaurant serves cold fries and cold burger to a paying customer??
I looked around: other people also could barely eat their food, left a lot in the plate. Almost everyone left the fries. A very sad story.
Don't believe the high ratings. They are probably either from employees or paid reviewers (notice a lot of high ratings from "local guides"). If not, they came in a lucky day, maybe a different cook or a time when management hasn't yet cut costs. They obviously cut quality and...
