Eagle Suntory Lounge — Restaurant in Tokyo

If you’re a fan of speakeasies and unique experiences, visit the eagle! We luckily avoided a wait for two on a Friday night around 7pm and sat at the last few seats at the bar. A few minutes after we sat, a handful of couples came in and started waiting! We enjoyed the decor and overall experience. The cocktails were alright on average (but nothing like the intricate cocktails you’d find in New York City speakeasies... I don’t think that’s a thing here). My husband thoroughly enjoyed his whiskey - both Japanese brands yamazaki 18 yr and hibiki 21 yr. definitely pours which would’ve cost us way more in USA! We didn’t try the food. Our bartender was efficient and cordial. Lots of fancy tumbler shaking with the middle bartender. the host takes your coat for you when you enter, and you pay with him once the bartender gives...

Ready to pretend you're Don Draper after pitching an ad campaign in Tokyo? Come on down to Eagle Suntory Lounge. It's old school and quite a surprise considering the neon lights bathing you prior to descending the stairs.

Foreigner tip: I did the American thing and walked up to the bar and plopped down. Whoops. The staff will seat you.

They have an English menu with some cocktails your grandpa would've downed. Maybe even his grandpa. There's no shaker juggling or burnt thyme as part of the drinking experience. Just vigorous shaking, a serious attention to detail, and delicious, live-giving alcohol.

Not sure what to get? Say "Osu-sumae" which means recommendation. That was my favorite phrase pretty...

◯ 霜降りビーフ ネギをサシが入った牛肉で巻いたお料理 ブラックペッパーを目の前で削ってかけてくれる演出付きとなっていました 別添えで西洋わさび乗せてるのでお好みでどうぞとの事 こちらはネギのシャキシャキ食感と霜降り肉の甘みのマッチング率が高い逸品でスッと溶けて体に馴染む様な味わい お酒のアテにも丁度良くとても美味しかったです！

◯ サーモンチーズカナッペ クラッカーの上にサーモン/チーズが乗せられた名前通りのシンプルな構成 サーモンはしっとりとして甘くチーズは想像通りに濃厚なテイストでワイン等に合わせて食べたい味わいでした

◯ ポテトチップス 某ポテトチップスのうすしお味に酷似した味わい 塩気が丁度良くパリッとした食感でガツンとしたお酒の合間につまむのにぴったりで良きでした

・生ハムサラダ レタス/玉ねぎを中心に構成されたサラダの上にどっさりと生ハムが盛られた状態での提供 生ハムは薄切りタイプでしっとりとした舌触りとガツンと効いた塩味が心地よい味わい サラダ全体としては玉ねぎベースが強めでしなっとした柔らかな食感と生ハムとの相性が抜群な仕上がり シンプルに「美味い」と思えるサラダで、いくらでも食べれてしまいそうでした！
