had a great dinner @ fish bank tokyo on 5.11.2023
we preordered the weekend celebration course came with 2 drinks each (we had sparkling then 1 white 1 red) ¥13500x2nett inc tax and service
though I booked 2weeks back restaurant was unable to give us window seats not even the middle seats but the last row where only one seat faces the window.
and becos there was a group function at the side facing tokyo tower, we were at the other side facing odaiba makes no difference as we were at 3rd row seats
the food was great..it is french & dishes are more fine..
surprisingly the bread was mediocre which I guess means below par. butter was ok tasty.
1 uni flan their signature and indeed very nice & flavorful ..unfortunately for this set it doesn’t come in impressive uni shell like in the restaurant page photo 2 the buri (kanpachi) ceviche was competent good standard nice with the seaweed etc..quite ordinary & not quite the standard of towada prince ryokan..the least special among the 6 dishes 3 the clam chowder with tomato mousse cappuccino was really unique & delightful..the tomato flavors combined superbly with the bisque..unfortunately I did not take photo 4 lobster small serving very well done..perfect texture very fresh and bouncy 5 the yamagata yonezawa pork loin was the best dish..it’s excellent and better than most cheaper domestic beef 国产牛cuts 6 rum baba was excellent too, with vanilla ice cream and a chestnut mousse
overall excellent dinner and the service was impeccable..
very enjoyable birthday dinner for us except that we didn’t have...
Read moreGreat experience with superb service and delicious food. Celebrated a birthday here and our request for window seat was granted! Our waiter did a great job, very attentive, polite and always appearing in the right moments. The sea food platter is definitely to be recommended (given one likes seafood) as well as the fish of the day, fish bank style. I think it was called mada mada and from the presentation to tasting it was very well cooked. Only disappointment was the hummer, supposed to be the highlight of the dinner, I found it a bit too small and dont quite understand why it’s served on salad with bitter tastes. The hummer itself, apart from the size tasted great though but the combo with the salad is a bit of question mark (to me personally). We ordered the dishes to be separated so we both can enjoy the plates.
Still give 5 stars as the rest of food was outstanding and due to the great service, it does deserve nothing less! For 29k jpy, we had a great time and...

On the evening of December 22nd, we had booked the Christmas course for 33,000 yen per person (the most expensive course at your restaurant). The reservation page mentioned that we could enjoy a delicious meal while admiring the view of Tokyo Tower, so we were really looking forward to it. However, the seat we were given was near the entrance, by the window, but the view of Tokyo Tower was about one-third blocked. We were quite disappointed and asked a young Japanese male staff member with short hair if we could move to one of the empty seats in the center (since it was a reservation-only system, we assumed no specific seats were reserved for certain people).
But without even checking, he immediately said, “No,” while putting on a fake customer-service smile. His cold and insincere attitude honestly shocked me, and it completely ruined our mood. That forced smile of his was irritating to look at and only made things worse.
Still, we didn’t want to give up entirely, so we tried asking another staff member, who happened to be from China. Luckily, this person was incredibly kind and professional, promptly checking the situation and moving us to a better seat. Thanks to their help, we were finally able to enjoy the meal and salvage the evening. We’re truly grateful to this staff member.
That said, this experience made us realize how much a single staff member’s attitude can affect the overall impression of a restaurant. Thinking back to the cold response and fake smile from that first Japanese staff member, I honestly don’t feel like coming back again. I think you should consider improving staff training, especially to ensure that all employees treat guests with...
