Horrible experience. I should have read the negative Japanese review below—they were on the money. One of the two shop employees (initials DF) had us wait to look at the collection, which was fine seeing as the store was quite small. After allowing us to approach the shoe collection wall, said employee told us that he’d be “right with us in a moment”. What proceeded was us being left hanging and essentially invisible as the employees remained at the beck and call of the previous two customers, essentially breathing down their necks even when they were busy trying the shoes on in silence. My patience ran out after 10-15 minutes of waiting and asked if he could give us the size and model we had been waiting for and quickly return to his customer thereafter. He replied, verbatim, “We serve customers individually.” I responded, visibly annoyed, that “right with you in a moment”is not 10-15+ minutes and whether he understood what that meant in English, to which he shrugged, unashamed. We had every intention of making a swift purchase (I’ve been wearing Altra sneakers for two years now and knew the exact model and size I was looking for), but the inflexible, sheer rigidity of the employee precluded that—a real...
Read moreShop has good selection of the Altra shoes line up. However, in my experience, the shop attendants don't speak English and so are unable to suggest what type of ahoe is best suited for me. When trying this brand for the first time, a knowledgeable sales person is critical to getting the correct type of shoe as the vast lineup of models can be confusing. I ended up trying a couple of random models and bought one torin based on online reviews but would have really liked an experienced sales person to suggest alternatives, pros and cons of the difference models. Also, for other customers the sales reps were measuring their foot with various tools and helping them try on the new shoes but for me just handed le the boxes and walked off. I get that this is Japan, but other brands (asics, Adidas, nike) that i visited all had people who could communicate in english. 3 stars are for the shoes but the shop experience wasn't all that and I will resort to buying online from...
Read moreNot a good experience. Waited for 30 minutes in the queue outside. Customer service was minimal. After hearing about my fitting difficulties, the assistant didn’t make any suggestion. I purchased something I chose from the wall, but I don’t know if it’s good for my feet or not. There was no information or recommendation from the assistant. No foot measuring. So I think it’s good to research what you need on the website before arriving - don’t expect help from staff. Not even a smile from unfriendly male staff, even though I made an...
