This was actually our second visit to Ippudo Ginza, as our children absolutely loved your food during our first visit. We were hoping for another enjoyable family meal, but unfortunately, this incident left a very bad impression on our vacation.
My three-year-old child, due to her height, accidentally placed her shoe on the restaurant bench. While I understand the importance of maintaining cleanliness and respect for restaurant property, the waiter's reaction was entirely disproportionate and unacceptable.
Instead of politely informing us, the waiter scolded my child directly. Shortly after, my child, again due to her small stature and inability to fully reach the end of the bench, inadvertently repeated the action. Despite our attempt to explain that she is just a child, the waiter forcibly nudged me and continued to scold us in a highly aggressive manner about the shoe touching the bench.
It is important to note that, aside from this individual, all of your other staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating to our children's needs. However, this particular waiter's behavior was a stark contrast. He spoke fluent English, which unfortunately he chose to use in a very confrontational and inappropriate manner.
It is one thing to enforce rules, but it is another entirely to treat a customer, especially a family with a young child, with such disrespect and aggression. The waiter's behavior was not only rude but also physically confrontational. While I understand the concern about shoes on benches, the lack of understanding and patience shown towards a small child, coupled with the waiter's physical contact and verbal abuse, is deeply disturbing.
This experience has left a very negative impression on my family and me, significantly impacting what was otherwise a lovely vacation. I hope you will address this matter seriously and take appropriate action to ensure that such incidents do not occur again to...
Read moreAffordable tasty ramen We sought out this place given the strong reviews and nearby location to the Kabukiza Theatre. It’s a non-fancy ramen place with iPads at the table for ordering. The menu is simple with various customizable ramen Tonkotsu broth: Akamaru Modern or modern-style ramen, Shiromaru Classic, spicy Karaka. with soft-boiled egg, char siu pork thick sliced, low temperature cooked roast pork, mentaiko or spicy cod roe, a sheet of nori or seaweed, green onions, kikurage mushrooms, or extra noodles. For vegetarians there is a plant-based Akamaru. Once you decide what you want, they bring out the food quickly. There is a separate dipping sauce station. We ordered Hakata bite dumplings half, Kiwami Karaka, Simple Akamura, Akamaru with Egg, bowls of white rice and a draft beer. It was very good and we finished it all feeling happily full. For ¥6,500 or USD $45 got a hearty dinner for 4. Based on this, we’re giving it 5 stars – keep in mind it’s 5 stars for an affordable ramen bar – we value these reviews and we want to keep their rating over 4 stars as they are worth it. Read moreSeeing the high ratings on google, I had very high expectations. Prior to this, I had tried the infamous Ichiran ramen so I was expecting this ramen to be good or even better.
I came around noon time so when I entered the place, there were not many people around. A worker had sat us and we ordered from a tablet. I ordered the Shiromaru classic and our orders came within 10 minutes. It was pretty fast. On the table, there were utensils, cups, and iced tea. We had to ask for water which wasn't a big deal. They gave us a pitcher of water. After finishing our meal, we headed to the counter in the front with our ticket and paid.
The service was great. Although it wasn't crowded, it was super hot. I wasn't sure if they had AC, but the inside felt hotter than the outside (mind you it was like 90 degrees F outside). As for the ramen, I was pretty disappointed. It was almost better than everything I have had in the US, but compared to Ichiran, it was incomparable. I don't remember much of my experience trying the food, but it just wasn't as memorable as trying Ichiran ramen's broth. Maybe I'm just biased, but it was worth a try. Again, the service was great (as always in Japan).
Overall, I feel pretty indifferent towards this place. Would I come back again? Probably,...
