The world's best noodle outside Thailand !! Ippudo is a famous Hakata ramen shop and they have many outlets throughout Japan. I visited it's shop in Hakata, Shinjuku, Osaka Namba, Asakusa and Marunouchi. However, the most often is at this place - Ippudo Ginza. I love the texture of the noodle which they claim the name is "Square Blade Noodle", richness of the Tonkotsu (pork bone slow cooked base) soup and the topping like black fangas mushroom. You must order an onsen tamago (soft boiled egg) to match the soup taste. Put the crushed white sesame to enhance the richness of the soup. Add some crushed garlic to increase spicy taste and also for your health ! Their Gyoza (bite pork dumplings) is also the best in town. You may keep some soup in your noodle bowl and order only a portion of boiled noodle to enjoy your second bowl of ramen at more economy price. Price is of course reasonable. Sometimes (especially between 11:30-13:00) you may confront with a long queue in front of the shop.

I’m overdue for another haiku and Ippudo Ginza makes me want to write one for you! Waiting In The Cold The Line Moves Very Quickly For Bold Beer and Broth Although Ippudo is a chain; This instance is far better than what you might see outside of Japan. The service is fast, friendly and good. If you’re English-only, this is an easy way to get a tasty ramen bowl and an icy cold beer effortlessly. There was a bit of a wait here in the early afternoon - but this is to be expected when it is cold, and heart-warming ramen is on offer. The line moves through fairly quickly, and the staff will check on the queue periodically to ensure that those waiting will make the closing time. After I sat down I had a beer within a couple of minutes and a bowl of steaming hot ramen within another few minutes. With condiments in front to season to your taste, this was just a really great meal on a cold winter's afternoon.

Ippudo was a ramen stop with higher expectations given constant talk about the broth and, although the ramen itself was flavorful, the location was not very enjoyable. The service was very careless, spilling the ramen from the bowl and pouring the mugicha on the table without recognizing or cleaning it up. The space was also very tight and we were squeezed closer to others than in any other ramen joint. It was also excessively loud which didn't fit the ramen vibe at all. Lastly, food wise, the ramen we ordered was quite flavorful. The broth bases were tasty although slightly watered down. The noodles were al dente as desired, but seemed like spaghetti noodles from a barilla box. Toppings were decent but the egg was not seasoned well, just an egg. Overall it was experienced. Tried and tasted.

My first international Ippudo experience! Been to the East Village/NY a bunch of times and then once in SF. The NY one reigns supreme but have never gone there without a crazy wait. Here at Monday at 8pm we waited 10 minutes. The ramen 🍜 was tasty but definitely ordered it too hot. I did the second to last spicy 🌶 meter and whoa! I would suggest lowering that...super enjoyed the grilled beef. That had a ton of flavor and loved that they have sesame bean sprouts at the table. Also iced tea at the table. I didn’t buy it but also had ramen kits to take home for around 450 yen/$5. So many ramen spots in Ginza. Glad this was walking distance from our hotel. Near all the major shopping.
