A pretty bad experience from start till end. The staff appears busy but I'm not sure why as the place is rather small and there are quite a number of staff. They all seem inexperienced and lack the typical mannerism that you would expect of Japan restaurants, especially the waiters that served us named 小野塚 and 門屋. We went for course meals, but they wouldn't even bother asking who is having which course. When the courses arrive, they simply place the dishes on the table. 本日訪れましたのは、表参道ヒルズ内にある「やさい家めい 表参道店」。 買い物客や観光客が行き交う華やかな施設の一角にありながら、店内に足を踏み入れると、木の温もりを感じさせる落ち着いた空間が広がっていました。テーブル席はゆったりと間隔が取られており、野菜を主役とした料理を味わうための舞台が整えられています。華美な装飾よりも清潔感と素朴さが前面に出ており、食事の時間を静かに楽しみたい人に適した環境だと感じました。
今回いただいたのは「うつくしの御膳」。全体を通じて“野菜と発酵”というテーマが据えられており、監修を務めるのは「発酵王子」として知られる伏木暢顕氏。農家直送の野菜を軸に、発酵の要素を随所に取り入れた内容となっています。
御膳はひとつの料理に焦点を当てるよりも、全体を通じて少しずつ多彩な品を味わう形式。最初に並んだ棒寿司や軍艦巻きは、野菜そのものを寿司の形で楽しむという発想が特徴的でした。魚に頼らず、野菜の食感や香りを前面に出しているのが印象的です。
