Hidakaya Kanda West Entrance Shop — Restaurant in Tokyo

I am visiting the area with my family and wanted to eat a local lunch at a ramen shop. I step inside and the man at the front said something in Japanese but my Japanese isn’t good so I didn’t understand. I just asked for table for 4 in English (in case he understands since the sign outside says English menu available). I thought I wouldn’t be too much trouble since I would be ordering on the tablet anyway. But he responds with “no food no food” and did this 🙅‍♂️ at me a few times.. so my family was sent outside. Then 10 seconds later, an old Japanese man walks in and sits down at a table without a word from the xenophobic worker… it’s okay though, good thing there’s lots of other welcoming delicious noodle...

This Hidakaya branch is located next to the west exit of Kanda station, a English menu for foreigners can be selected from the ordering tablet.

Ordered the large size Tonkatsu Ramen set with Gyoza for 810円. The ramen comes with a piece of chashu, menma, kazami negi, and a small piece of seaweed.

The chashu was actually quite savory and the menma was good but apart from the first two, the ramen was pretty average in taste. The gyoza is a little above average in taste and can be dipped into some shoyu to boost its flavor.
