Ikinari Steak Roppongi — Restaurant in Tokyo

The prices of ordering is great and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They cut your piece of steak in front of you and weigh it (price charged per a gram). The cut will be very close to the weight you ask for. I went with the local Japanese steak (the most expensive) because I wanted to try Japanese steak. They cook it how you want it and bring it out on an iron plate. The flavour of the steak is great from the seasoning and steak sauce they use. I judge the quality of a steak by taste and how easy I could cut it with a butter knife. This one would fail the 2nd test. The centre of the steak was very tender and great but the rest was a bit chewy. It was still a great steak but not exceptional. I actually think the cheaper cuts would be better quality steak and possibly 5 stars. The cheaper cuts has more marbling. I think the price of this one was solely for the "domestic" factor. My family and I have visited many Ikinari branches, but unfortunately, our recent visit to the Roppongi branch was disappointing. It had been a while since we came here, and we were forced to use the English QR code website, which wasn’t functioning properly. Although the server seemed capable of communicating in basic English, she insisted on using the faulty and unnecessarily complicated website , even though simply pointing to the photo of our order would have sufficed.

Additionally, the service and portion sizes at this branch leave much to be desired. My steak, which was supposed to be 300 grams, had an excessive amount of fat, making it far from satisfying. The other steaks did not have this much fat on it. These issues detracted from our dining experience and left us feeling frustrated. Sadly, we won’t be returning to this...

One can find several cuts of beef in this restaurant, the quality of the food is great and the prices are not overrated. You can choose the weight of most steaks from 200 to 450g. They also offer a service of "Bring your own wine" and points card that sums you points per gram of meat.
