My friends and I visited back in April for their lunch course, it was rather easy to make reservation through their website and we requested to be seated at the counter, so that we get to see all the sushi making actions.
We ordered our drinks once we arrived and got seated. The chef is able to speak english, so it was very easy to communicate. As the chef makes each sushi piece, she explains the ingredients well and give us some knowledge bits occasionally too.
Each sushi taste really good, I like the the red sushi rice which is really light and fluffy, which match perfectly with fresh fish and seafood. We had total of 15 food items including dessert, which is really a lot. The tamago kake gohan served as the last savory dish was the star, the egg white was super fluffy and makes the rice tasty and has a smooth texture.
The dessert was very special, even though it's just affogato, but the uniqueness is the freezing stone bowl which makes the matcha become crispy as we take every bite. The balance between matcha bitterness and ice cream is awesome, and it's simply the best.
Overall dining experience were awesome, and definitely worth the splurge, as the two hours spent was so enjoyable...
Read moreAffordable and value for money omakase from a TikTok rec. Not bad for the price but definitely can be better in terms of the finesse of each dish’s execution. Stand out dish was the fried abalone which was super tender and topped with rice mixed with the abalone intestines. The nigiri tasted more or less the same towards the end as all were just brushed lightly with the same soy finish. The last rice bowl felt like a combination of off cuts of sashimi mixed together, hidden behind a whipped egg white cloud and topped with yolk sauce. IMO, too runny of a texture for me. Dessert could be more well balanced with a lesser bitter matcha to icecream ratio. They have a weird policy to only letting in customers at their reservation time so we had to hang around outside in the cold for 15 mins before being led in (I understand it’s a really small space). All in all, great for omakase first timers. The younger sushi chef speaks a little English, hope he continues to hone his craft and manage to venture...
