This place was recommended by a friend and it did not let us down one bit. As soon as you walk in, you can begin to hear and smell the delicious yakitori being cooked. You must take off your shoes before going to your table. As you walk in, you notice the place has a wall decorated with many containers of alcohol, open format cooking station for the skewers, and a full bar. The menu is large with many various options for all types of diets and cravings. We ordered a Jim Beam Highball, a shochu, a potato egg croquette, the 8-skewer platter, and an order of the hakata boiled dumplings. This was definitely too much food for two people but everything was extremely tasty. Our favorite items were definitely the 8-skewer platter which allow you to sample many of the different skewers and the hakata boiled dumplings which in turn becomes a soup that you can have after you eat your dumplings. After our meal, our server gave us these small ice cream treats about the size of a to go candy - a delightful touch to end our delicious dinner. Highly recommend this spot - very fresh and tasty food for a low cost.

We were lucky enough to book here a day before in the restaurant. We ordered the 8 sticks meat skewers, meat skewers of different kind, kuroge beef stew and fried ham The food here all very delicious, but the portion for stew is very small. Inside the stew has a different cut of beef meat and innards. The meat and innards are very soft and not chewy, definitely a must try. Here comes the best part, meat skewers. You can just ordered any kind of meat and its suprisingly delicious. The best are beef skewers, mind blowing. If you ordered vegetable skewers, the vegetables are wrapped with bacon. Unfortunately we ordered tsukune, but the waitress did not take our order and its past the last order time, can’t try my favourite part of the menu, such a shame. Fried ham are decent, no extra plus feature. Overall, a decent meal for supper. They have a store rule where each guest has to order at least 1 drink eventhough you ordered a lot of food. Quite pricey as well

Edit: after 9 days in Japan, we’ve figured out that the best places to eat at the ones that don’t show up on Google and where all the locals are lining up for a long wait… It comes down to this: We didn’t have the best experience and would not recommend this place for a few reasons. First: everything is wrapped in bacon. I don’t eat pork/beef/seafood plus other allergies so my options are limited. When I ordered all the veggies, excited and super hungry, the last thing I expected was for everything to be wrapped in pork. Super frustrating and disappointing. My boyfriend ate everything I ordered and he was pretty grossed out by it at the end of the meal, too. It’s just a lot, especially when you’re expecting an authentic Japanese yakitori. This place is not it. We were surrounded by Aussies, Koreans, Americans, and Italians. I think out of the 5 Japanese in the whole place, three were the waiters and cook. If you’re really into bacon, overspending for a meal, and don’t care about an authentic Japanese experience while in Japan, this is your place. Not to mention we agreed to dining with/sharing a large table in the back (ended up being with two kicking kids playing with toys the whole time), then right after they served our meal, they interrupted us and asked us to move tables to a accommodate a large party. Very annoying and frustrating, to say the least. Especially just after getting plate after plate of pork wrapped food when we were expecting veggies. Oh, plus the food is served little by little. So we didn’t even get to eat together. It was just 2-3 skewers at a time. We left disappointed and frustrated. I could have spent 990¥ (instead of ¥9900)for a much better meal at Lawson and had a more authentic experience in my hotel lobby. Came here on a Sunday at 19:30hrs, had to wait just a few minutes outside, we didn’t have a reservation. Take your chances or don’t and eat somewhere else.

Mid-range Hakata-style kushiyaki restaurant just down the hill from Roppongi Crossing. It's a small, intimate place - snag seats at the somewhat cramped counter to watch the magic happen on the grill, or go for one of the handful of tables in the back for a slightly more private setting. Seating is very limited, so reservations or at least calling ahead is recommended. Look forward to Kyushu (Hakata) style grilled meat and veggie sticks - standards like negima (chicken and leek), tsukune (minced chicken), ginnan (ginko nuts), shishito (peppers), liver, and more, as well as Kyushu favorites like shisomaki (pinwheels of pork and shiso leaf) and other bacon-wrapped veg skewers. Other small plates and dishes are also available, like the giant ball of fried goodness that is the "Tamatoro croquette". Standard offering of beer, cocktails, spirits and soft drinks, with some tasty fresh fruit cocktails if that's what you're in to.
