We came here shortly after moving to the area on the recommendation of a Japanese friend. He suggested it as a good "beginner" ramen place since my partner was not super accustomed to eating ramen. Since it was summer, and hot, I ordered something akin to "hiyashi chuuka" or basically cold ramen noodles served with chilled sesame dipping sauce. I think I over ordered some of the side toppings because it was all a little much, and one thing that I wasn't expecting was that the pork meat was also ice cold. All-in-all, while it was a decent dish, it wasn't my favorite version of this dish that I have ever had. We also ordered gyoza and my partner had a eggplant cheese thing as a starter - which I didn't touch as I don't really like combining western flavors (like cheese) with eastern dishes sort of a culinary tragedy in my opinion. My partner had one of their normal ramen bowls (although I forget now which one) which he said was good, but didn't rave about it. We had the pleasure of dining at Men-shou Taketora during our visit to Roppongi, and it was an absolute standout experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly, and the service remained attentive and friendly throughout the meal.
The ramen was exceptional—rich, flavorful broth with perfectly cooked noodles, and each topping was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully balanced. You can really taste the craftsmanship in every bite. It’s clear this place takes pride in what they serve. We also tried a few of their side dishes, and everything was fresh, satisfying, and made with care.
Whether you're a ramen enthusiast or just craving a soul-warming bowl of comfort, Men-shou Taketora is a must-visit. Tucked away but totally worth finding, this spot combines quality, heart, and a cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
Highly recommended—we’ll...
Read morePleasant and vertical fat service, compared to other Roman places visited earlier. It is hard to get in during the lunch hour anywhere in Tokyo. This was a pleasant surprise, as I was third in line. The host, same waitress, have placed us with the previous couple in the same room, which was like being comfortable. Unfortunately, thee guests did not speak any English and felt uncomfortable with me trying to talk to them during their lunch hour. The ramen broth was relatively decent with lots of curry in it, however, the noodles were pretty raw, and it took a while to chew through them. Couple next to me kept making very loud, sipping sounds during their lunch ceremony. That made me feel uncomfortable. The beer was good and cold. Check got dropped on the table halfway through the dish. All in all, some management guidance is needed, and the police will get a really good rating, as well as the...
