I rarely write reviews, but this place was so bad I felt I had to say something. It’s honestly a tourist trap. I’m Japanese, and I couldn’t help but notice that there were barely any Japanese customers—probably because no one with normal taste buds would come back here.

The positive reviews seem to be from people who’ve never had proper gyoza before. The only reason this place is still in business is its location and the steady stream of unsuspecting tourists.

First off, we literally saw a cockroach on the wall, and a staff member had to come kill it. Not exactly what you want to see while eating.

As for the food—it was terrible. We tried several kinds of gyoza, and all of them were completely bland and flavorless. Honestly the worst gyoza I’ve ever had. You’d get better food at a family restaurant or even from frozen gyoza you can find in Europe. That says a lot.

To top it all off, there was this grating music looping nonstop, which just added to the unpleasant atmosphere.

Avoid this place. There are way better options literally...

We had a very disappointing experience here. We ordered two vegan dishes, clearly listed as vegan on the menu. However, one of them (the “Fried Vegan Gyoza with Chinese sauce”) turned out NOT to be vegan. After we asked, the chef came out and confirmed it himself.

This is completely unacceptable – labeling a dish as vegan when it actually isn’t is misleading and disrespectful. For people with dietary restrictions or ethical reasons, this is not only frustrating but also potentially harmful.

On top of that, communication was terrible. In such a central, touristy area, the staff couldn’t even say basic words in English. Everything is done through an app because they simply can’t communicate with customers directly. Instead of being honest and clear from the start, they left us feeling deceived.

If you care about vegan or vegetarian food, or simply expect basic honesty and service, I strongly recommend...

I don't leave reviews but i felt compelled to after tonight. Never in my life have i had such an awful service at a restaurant. Food was fine, we asked for vegan gyozas, the "waitress" was rude and cold and she bumped me on my arm quit rudely and aggresively while i was eating the food beacuse she wanted me to move to the left so she could put the ipad they give you to order food beside me, my girlfriend and i were baffled at this, she couldn't asked politley? In what world do you bump customer in the arm aggresivley beacuse you want to put something on the table? We were in disbeliefe, after that we payed, the "waitress" didn't say thank you just said "here it is" when she gave me back the change we said "arigato gozaimasu" while leaving and no one replyed 👍🏻 NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE If you don't life foreigners in your restaurant the don't let me into...

We were staying nearby and located this restaurant on Google maps. Our first time visiting was very busy but we were seated quickly. Other times there was a bit of a wait. It’s a pretty vibrant place, especially later in the evening. Ordering is all done using a tablet that ya several different language options on it. We tried a variety of gyoza but settled on a few favourites. The chili sauce gyoza was great. Reasonably priced beers and highballs. Staff knew enough English for us to get by, it’s certainly better than my Japanese. Saw one group get a bit frustrated, but as non-Japanese people, we shouldn’t expect to be in a foreign country and have everyone accommodate us. Take it easy, you’ll be happier. We ended up eating here at least three times in one week. Different times of day have various deals. Smoking is permitted. Overall, recommended!

This place is good for a visit if you're craving gyoza. We came here for a quick dinner and they seem like a good spot to socialize at with drinks and menu. The ambience was pretty nice with great decor and they have an iPad with an English menu which made ordering your food easy. We ordered the 5 color pan fried dumplings, XLB x Gyoza, and beer. The pan fried dumplings is a sampler of their flavors: ginger, red pepper, soy meat, white plane, and black pepper. However, the XLB x Gyoza was our favorite, it was tasty and full of flavor. Overall, it's not a restaurant I would go out of my way for, but it was good for a snack. They're also open 24 hours, so if you're out in Shinjuku for a late night and want food, they can accommodate. follow @food.vince on instagram and tiktok for more travel eats!
