Opted the ¥6000 all you can eat deal. First course was one whole snow crab for each of us, after we finished eating that, we could order Japonicus Snow Crab Legs, crab shell with roe and crab miso soup. 🙂
Staff was friendly and courteous. They came to our table to clean and dismantle the crab for us, scraping all the roe into the crab shell. That’s probably the only positive thing I could write about. 😬
The snow crab meat wasn’t as sweet as I’ve eaten elsewhere. The roe had a slight fishy taste. 😐 Actually we couldn’t expect too much since their crabs have been frozen. The leg meat wasn’t plumped and full so it was pretty fiddly to get the meat out. I ended up spending half an hour to finish the crab to move on to my next order. 🫤
I ordered warm crab legs for my 2nd round. They were worse. 😞 I think the staff just dumped the crab legs into boiling water to reheat them, as a result the wonderful crab flavour was lost and they ended up overcooked. 🙄 When I cut up the shell with the shears, lots of water bursting out. It was very messy eating that way. If they could steam the crab legs rather than boil would be better but steaming could overcook the legs again, so my suggestion is to order cold rather than warm… 😗
Staff came to our table and ask if we wanted to order some more before the 60min mark, we told her it’s ok because there was no reason to eat something we didn’t enjoy just to get the...
Read moreThe restaurant has occupied a large space in the most obvious intersection at tsujiku, so it is hard to miss. We arrive at peak lunch time but there were only 3-4 tables so it looks 80% empty. We ordered 15000jpy king crab + snow crab 60mims all you can eat and it was real that they give you the biggest king crab. However the quality is not what I expected. I’ve had many Alaska king crab in my home and I know what it tastes like. They are definitely not fresh. It was almost impossible to remove the meat from the shell while it is all intact. There were only minimum sweetness towards the end of crab feet (from human standard it would be the calves, not the thigh). The texture was really terrible (watery and and broken in small slices). I thought I can have at least 6 legs, but I barely made it 3.
I am still amazed with the size of the crab, but it may also be why they are not that tasty. If you like to have crab legs, just order the grill ones coz at least you get some seasoning.
I felt a bit strange the kitchen are mostly ran by non-Japanese. The server is however a young Japanese gentleman who speaks very good English. When I asked him about crabs, he was very patient and when he doest know the answer, he went back and ask for more info. He has “heart” for the job. Well done. The restaurant is lucky to have him. All 4...
Read moreThere are English menus and English-speaking waitstaff in this restaurant, so nothing can possibly go wrong here.
We opted for the All You Can Eat King Crabs and Snow Crabs, which includes unlimited servings of Cold/Hot King/Snow Crabs, Crab Soup, Crab Sushi, Tempura Crabs, and Rice, among other items.
Honestly, you would be more or less stuffed after a second serving since the crabs are so meaty. Taste-wise, we actually prefer Snow Crabs over King Crabs, although King Crabs have much more meat in comparison.
The good thing here is that the waitstaff will help you kickstart your meal by de-shelling some crabs for you, especially the huge king crab legs. Otherwise, we would have spent most of the time cracking them open within the 60-minute (only) allowance we had. We are thankful for that.
We were still enjoying our crabs when the 60-minute time limit was up, but the waitstaff asked if we wanted to place a final order. That was very nice of her. We ended up leaving the restaurant more than 90 minutes later, perhaps because we arrived after the lunchtime crowd, and there were very few diners in the restaurant at the time.
If I ever come back, I will go for the cheaper option with just Snow Crabs because King Crabs fill you up very quickly, leaving no room for...
