Just next door from the Kabuki theater in Higashi Ginza, famous for the long queue every day, especially since they only open during lunch 11:00-16:00 I went at 10:30 on a rainy Sunday and already 8 people we lining up, so definitely do not go if you're looking to grab a quick lunch. Their signature dish is the omrice (tomato rice with omelette) a set with drink cost 1,300 yen. The omelette is the star here and I think the reason so many people are willing to wait in line for an hour. It is incredible soft to the tough, practically turns back into liquid form as soon as you touch it, it's a melt-in-your-mouth sensation. I'm still surprised the omelette was able to holds it's shape, and there was no sign of raw egg taste so it was not undercooked. The chef knows how to control the temperature evenly, such a delicate task. For me the tomato rice was not remarkable, and as an egg lover I would've preferred more texture and stronger egg taste, so I gave it 4 stars. The store has a retro feel to it, I ordered hot tea with ny meal and the lady offered to add a drop of brandy for aroma,...

Portion omelet rice as if I ate fresh cream and butter, feel sick a bit thin rice spread underneath the omelet; One can soon eat it up surely cafe latte (option latte +100JPY) just RTD
Service She just points out a seat to have with a sober face She looks as though she would approach visitors as little as possible
Pricing expensive for this portion 1,300JPY for thin omelet rice and drink They aren't open in the evening currently owing to COVID-19 with no lunch menu (ランチ) of 1.1k but evening menu (YOU飯) of 1.3k provided, accordingly the price increased. +100JPY latte option Coffee is in this set portion but cafe latte demands 100JPY more, however it tastes just RTD stuff, not fresh. Coffee might be better since they are literally a coffee shop with coffee brewed in house
Lastly I hadn't felt such things last time, the first time long ago I wonder. My palate has improved or the shop has impaired. I dare put one star in this four...
Read moreA very cosy restaurant in Ginza known for its omurice! 🍳🍚 I won’t tell you that the omurice is life changing or anything like that but it’s just a simple dish done well. Their rice is very fragrant with sweet onions, bacon and the classic ketchup. The omelette is not the usual cut open with a sharp knife type but a creamier and smoother rendition. It spills over the rice perfectly and the extra ketchup on top of it just coats everything. Orders come quick so the queue moves quickly too! We seemed to be the only tourists on the second floor but the service we got was warm and personable. Fun place to come with friends or on a date!
Notes in case anyone needs more info: We came before opening at 11.06am and there was already a long queue forming. We were in plus had our omurice...
