Komeda's Coffee Shinjuku Gyoen — Restaurant in Tokyo

We came here several times as they open from 7am until 10.30pm every day which is so good, as a lot of cafes in Tokyo don’t open until 10am for some reason. It’s really close to the the Shinjuku Gardens. There’s no longer a smoking section, and there is lots of people working on laptops or reading something from the book shelf or newspapers. (They even have a section of reading glasses, in case you’ve forgotten yours) Cute layout with lots of little private areas. Great Japanese coffee. Food is good and affordable, and the space is pleasant to work in. Free plugs and WiFi.

The bad: Their policy is you can only stay 90 minutes if it’s busy and there’s a wait. I was told to leave after 90 minutes despite there being many empty seats around me. It made no sense. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and give 5 stars. But if it happens again I’ll have to drop my rating lower. Great curry pork sando, generous serving of thick piece of breaded pork cutlet, with mustard & shredded lettuce cut into 3 servings. Was fresh tasting & crunchy. Desert was a shiro noir with ice cream & tiramisu powder. Ordered Vienese coffee too, which tasted like normal coffee. Both coffee & desert were ok but the pork sando was the star!
