Amazingly delicious and creative kakigori! As others have mentioned, the price tag is slightly higher than your typical kakigori, but it’s worth it. Portions are large and each kakigori has so many different components to it, you can tell it’s high quality and well made. The kabocha pumpkin kakigori is my all-time favorite. It has kabocha pumpkin prepared 6 different ways in the kakigori, so delicious. They’re always changing their flavors so get the kabocha flavor while you still can!
The store is quite small, but very clean. Store is dark and tables are low and quite uncomfortable to eat on, but I maybe it was designed to be that way? They maybe want to you eat your kakigori quickly and leave for the next person waiting. :)
If you’re coming on a holiday or weekend, make sure you come BEFORE 12pm to get a ticket. Be prepared to wait 3 hours (earlier, the better). Don’t worry, you can scan the number on LINE and check your status via phone. Which means you can just get your ticket and leave for a few hours. If you try to come after 2 or 3pm without a ticket, they’ll likely turn you away because they’re booked until closing time. Also if you’re dining-in, each person in your party will need to order their own item, so come on an...

A very pleasant surprise find when wandering through Ueno Parco in the morning. Definitely the most stylish dessert spot I've been to in Japan and honestly quite impressed to see how busy it is despite the one order per person rule. I was also amazed to see that so many individual customers were here and single handedly taking down the small hill of kakigori.
This is definitely one of the best kakigori I've ever had, so much so, that we came back the next day to try the squash flavour that everyone else was ordering. I can't give 5 stars though because of the one order per person. Whilst each kakigori is actually quite expensive, they are huge so sharing is advised.
Squash: S+, 8.5/10. Mellow and a bit earthy but not too sweet. Very easy to eat. Can see the appeal but not my personal favourite
Matcha: SS, 9/10. Intensity of flavour was the best I think. Perhaps could have used a bit more syrup as there were several areas of ice that were bland.
Black sesame: S+, 8.5/10. Also very good though not the strongest black sesame flavour
Brown sugar: A, 7/10 Bit ordinary....

We order purple yam, black sesame kakigori and salty ice cream.
A minimum of one order per guest is a must.
Yam Kakigori is amazing, they add a light what I would assume a whipped flavor cream cheese in say the shaved ice, together with yam puree. Perfect combination, however for me personally it’s a bit much and can be a bit overwhelming after 5-6 bites.
Black sesame kakigori is my favorite, classic flavor combination, as usual they hide some small texture surprise inside.
Lastly, salty ice cream. I couldn’t figure out what this is. It taste like a soy milk and peanut ice cream, seasoned with salt and sugar. It’s very new but very good nonetheless. The texture of the ice cream is great, no ice crystals.
Overall, great experience without too much of a wait time. I would love to go back and try other flavors if...
