Huge portion of ramen for a cheap price!🍜🤤 Queued for 40 minutes on Saturday night, but worth it! The thick, flat noodles were like ban mian, the chashu was melt-in-your-mouth, and the veggies were perfectly seasoned. Soup was a bit salty though! 🧂 Ordering might be tricky for foreigners, so here's how:
Ticket machine (English option available!) - choose noodle size (mini 125g/regular 250g), broth(normal or misu), chashu quantity(2, 5 or 8), & toppings(e.g. leek). Tell the waitress your noodle firmness, garlic/oil level, veggie amount (default 300g, I got 450g!), and spiciness preference. 🔥 Grab drinks and wait! 🥤 Enjoy! 😋
Fun fact: buta means pork and yama means mountain. Dining here means you get a mountain of pork!

The service was fast and efficient. You can also specify the saltiness of the broth and how much raw garlic you would like.
Unless you have a massive appetite, do not order the large! I made this mistake the first time I went, and I couldn't finish it!
Nonetheless, this is significantly better than any ramen you can get in North America, and the quality is high.
Highly recommend, will be returning when I visit Japan again. If you are feeling extra adventurous, try getting the ramen with...
Read moreIn this price range, this place is freakishly good. The portions are huge, the pork slices are thick and juicy, and the noodles are thick and delicious. But what really distinguished Butayama from the rest is the atmosphere. Right when you walk in you can hear the whole kitchen greeting at you and being loud and cheery - it's the real ramen experience for me. Not for someone looking for a quiet meal, but a great thing to give a try to. The staff are also super nice even though they're constantly under pressure from the never ending stream of customers. Absolutely...
