We were told this was one of Tokyo’s oldest and high-end sushi restaurants, so we had to give it a try. While the Ginza location was fully booked, we managed to secure a reservation at their Shinjuku branch.
We liked the traditional Japanese touches: waitresses in kimonos, shoes off at the entrance, and a modern twist on tatami seating (no kneeling needed—you sit comfortably with leg space).
We chose the 10-course omakase, but I felt they served more than that. Every dish was exquisitely presented and incredibly fresh. The balance of flavors was spot-on. My personal favorite was the squid—it literally melts in your mouth. The shrimp was also impressively fresh, and the miso soup, packed with clams, might be the best I’ve had. The chef was friendly and engaged with us through the meal. We even got to wear a chef's hat at the end...
