Beware of rude waitress!
I can’t find the customer service email, so I write here to express my dissatisfaction with the service I experienced at your restaurant (La Boutique de Joël Robuchon Marunouchi Brick Square Branch) yesterday .
It was early afternoon, after shopping nearby with my friend, we decided to have lunch at your restaurant. I noticed an empty table outside, so I placed my half-eaten small tub of ice cream on the table and asked my friend to sit down while I went inside to order. At the entrance, I noticed there were two sections—one for takeout and one for dine-in. I went to the dine-in section to wait for a staff member.
When a waitress approached, I asked her if it was okay for two of us to sit outside and how we could place an order. She asked where we were sitting outside, so I led her to the table where my friend was seated. The moment she arrived at our table, she suddenly started acting like a crazed robot, pointing at us and loudly repeating over and over again, “You can’t eat outside food here! You can’t eat outside food here! You can’t eat outside food here….” But the ice cream tub was just sitting on the table—my friend wasn’t even eating it.
The other guests nearby turned to stare at us, and we felt so embarrassed. I said to my friend, “It’s ok, she’s rude, let’s go!” As I looked back at her, I noticed she was rolling her eyes at us!
I never imagined that a waitress would behave so rudely toward customers. I was utterly shocked.
As tourists, we came to Tokyo without any ill intentions, simply hoping to relax and enjoy ourselves. First, we did not break any rules at your restaurant, yet your waitress falsely accused us and yelled at us. There’s no need to shout at us, even if someone didn’t follow the rules, she can at least tell in a polite way first. Lastly, it is completely unacceptable for someone in the service industry to roll their eyes at customers! In my experience, I’ve never encountered such behavior from staff at your restaurants in other cities and other countries. She may have personal issues or workplace troubles, but that does not give her the right to take out her frustrations on customers. This behavior is outrageous!

Listed as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tablelog, this bakery lives up to its reputation and rank.
This is from memory one of the most delicious bread I've ever had. The skin is light and crisp; and bread dough tastes like dark malt. The fruit to bread is very generous, as the bread is almost half speckled with matured and juicy bits of dried fruits and nuts. The loaf is dense and and imparts a deep, rustic, fermented, sourdough after taste. The more one chew, the better it taste! I'd normally toast fruit bread prior to serving but this loaf as good as they come.
The bakery is busy especially on weekends. I did not dine in for that reason but they do offer a galette and coffee set which looked tempting.
Prior to visiting JR, I queued for almost 90 minutes to get my hands on ECHIRE financier and madeline. In my humble yet honest opinion, I...
Read moreThe food is genuinely very good, and the lunch menu offers great value — no complaints there.
However, given that this is a Robuchon establishment, I expected more in terms of service and atmosphere. The service setup is quite confusing: some items need to be ordered at the counter, others are self-serve but still need to be brought to the register, and if you're getting takeaway, you have to queue in a separate line. It's not very intuitive and could definitely be improved.
As for the atmosphere, it felt like the space was overfilled with tables, making it feel cramped and lacking the relaxed, refined ambiance you’d typically associate with the Robuchon name.
If this weren’t branded as Robuchon, I might have overlooked these details. But with that name comes a certain level of expectation — better organization and a more considered table arrangement would go a long way, even at this more casual...
