Managed to finally find a Hokkaido soup curry place in Tokyo (not that easy to find one outside of Hokkaido). It's really not bad - perhaps not at the same level as those you'll find on Hokkaido itself where the competition is extremely intense, but it more than scratched the itch I had.
I had the suage special - great way to eat a variety of what they have on offer. The moderately spicy was not spicy enough for me (I was afraid lol) so if you can take the spice, go for it! The curry soup was what made the dish for me. The pear lassi paired (heh) well with the curry as well.
I came at 5 and there was hardly anyone so if you're in the area after visiting the imperial gardens and don't want to queue, this time is good; otherwise it apparently gets really crowded once the office crowd gets...
Read moreDidnt venture up to Hokkaido so curiosity got to me about what this noodle soup up north would taste like. Its like a hotpot laksa Bak Kut Teh with Japanese spices. Noting that depending on your spice tolerances, their Spicy is more like a Thai Mild in the spice expectations. Very Spicy i assume would have been a Medium/hot range. No noodles and you just eat it with rice which paired really well. Had some cultivated yogurt drink which was meant to help with the spice but it really wasnt spicy. Very yummy and youd notice a difference to the more traditional japanese...

We have always wanted to try this in Sapporo, but it’s always long queue. We are glad there are many branches in Tokyo. You can start to choose what you like while waiting in the queue.
Waiting time is not very long, approximately 5 minutes. Food is served within 10 minutes.
Staff whom attended to us can converse very well in English.
