Our traveling party of 11 was scheduled to visit teamLab Borderless in the afternoon and we wanted a nice meal in the area to cap off the night before catching a train back to the hotel. Our eyes were set on A5 yakiniku, and hopefully additional (seafood) menu options for anyone not keen on red meat. Accommodating a group larger than 4 can be a challenge at spot in Japan so in the weeks ahead we researched A5 yakiniku restaurants in the area that would take reservations for our group of 11. Finding one that would accept children or did not require preselecting/prepaying for a course menu was a challenge. But luckily for us, MASU Roppongi welcomes international guests to navigate reservations online and no prepayment is necessary, and there is no ordering minimum. It was an easy 10-15 minute walk from Azabudai Hills. They also hit the mark with crab legs and scallops in the shell. They also have prawns among their seafood selection, but we did not order them on this visit. The women enjoyed the sakura art in their beers. Ordering was done through tablets on our respective tables. Our party of 11 was split into two tables in the same room, very comfortable. I almost forgot to mention that we conservatively scheduled our reservation for 8pm so that we would not need to rush through our touristy sightseeing, but we were actually way ahead of schedule and the older members of our party were tired and ready call it a day. So we called the restaurant and they graciously accommodated our last minute request to move up our reservation time to 7pm. Service was welcoming and they also have closets if you need to check in your coat/jacket. Everyone left with a full belly and extremely satisfied with the experience. Couldn't have asked for anything more from MASU Roppongi. We took a few of their business cards to share with others for consideration. Dinner was fantastic and from what I read beforehand while researching restaurants, they are a popular lunch spot as well. Would definitely consider a...
Read morewe originally had plans to go to a more recognised yakiniku restaurant close by but they were booked out. so we stumbled upon this place by chance. we were lucky to be seated immediately upon arrival as a walk in. 銘柄高級焼肉 Masu opens with a dimly lit interior furnished by modern ornaments that feels more like a fancy bar or club, but don’t let that discourage you. the yakiniku menu is well selected with a wide variety from the cheaper cuts to the more premium cuts. all very delicious! however if you’re used to cheaper yakiniku establishments, the prices may seem a little more expensive (it is roppongi hills afterall). the wine list is quite extensive as well, so perfect for all you drunks. all available in english. the service, in your typical japanese manner, was excellent. judging by the customers walking by, their clientele are mostly wealthy business men. the professionally dressed hostess certainly suggested so. although i felt bad for her having to run around the restaurant in high heels haha. we were dressed in what was equivalent to dirty rags by tokyo standards, and they still welcomed us with open arms. the chef/owner (i think?) gave us an extra plate of meat free of charge as a service for the supposedly long waiting time (around 20 minutes from the top of my head). for a busy restaurant, the waiting time is more than acceptable in my opinion. our total bill ended up to be around 7000Y, which is probably a lot less than what typical customers there would pay. yet, they still gave us what i felt was beyond excellent service. i think this is a newly opened restaurant given how there are no reviews of this place. if you’re after a more intimate dining experience away from the bustling streets of Tokyo, give this...
Read moreThe food here is absolutely amazing! The beef liver sashimi, lightly infused with sesame oil and a sprinkle of salt, was melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a wonderfully bouncy texture. The butter-grilled mushrooms were bursting with rich buttery aroma, cooked to absolute perfection.
We went all out and ordered the Wagyu yakiniku platter for around 130,000 yen—every single cut of meat was heavenly, melting instantly with each bite and leaving behind a wave of savory, fragrant flavor.
For dessert, the mango shaved ice was an absolute highlight! The mango sauce was divine, with layers of silky milk ice wrapped around refreshing mango ice inside. It was the perfect summer treat—so refreshing and satisfying!
To top it all off, the restaurant even treated us to an extra plate of meat. Such a generous gesture! Staff here are also really helpful! Without a doubt, I’ll be coming back here next time I’m in Tokyo. Highly...
