Not a huge Okonomiyaki fan but it was a good experience with nice food and a cool atmosphere. The portions are definitely filling! If you’re visiting Shibuya Sky, this is a convenient spot located inside the tower. The best part for me was the experience of having the food cooked right at the table—it was a fun and unique touch! The place does have a bit of a touristy vibe with flavors that feel more “universal,” but that makes it approachable for everyone's taste. In our visit (12:30 - 13:40pm) the staff was friendly, adding a positive experience.
As for the food, I wasn’t a big fan of the Monja, but if you try it, I highly recommend adding more flavorful toppings; otherwise, it can taste a bit bland, like scrambled eggs with lettuce 😅. Definitely get the garlic butter—it really elevates the dish!
There was a very fortunate mix-up with my order. I ordered a Monja dish with various toppings and a noodles dish. But I got the toppings with the noodles ( they usually don’t come with extra toppings). However, this fortunate mistake turned out great—the garlic butter with extra bean sprouts and other toppings was fantastic! I would absolutely order the noodles again, as they were a better choice for me 🙌 But later I learned that you cannot add toppings to your noodle dish, which I don't understand why not.
During the same day, I recommended this place to my family for the experience ⏱️ (15:00 - 16:00hrs). They aren’t as adventurous with flavors as I, so it was perfect for them. However, I ran into a strict one plate per person rule when I wanted to join them later (even though I had already eaten there and I was still full). Despite showing my previous receipt, they wouldn’t allow me to join, (maybe because the staff had already changed and also might have been due to a language barrier or their rigid policies) 🫤. On top of that, when I told my family to order the noodles with toppings, the staff did not allow it under any circumstances. They were forced to order a Monja with toppings and the independent noodle dish with no toppings, which was confusing for my family 🤷♀️. Again due to the language barrier and that it didn’t seem logical that you can not add toppings to your dish and have the freedom to customize your meal, since it is also prepared in the same way at your table and it could have been an opportunity for the restaurant to earn more money.
Despite this, my family enjoyed the food, especially the more “universal flavors,” and overall had a good time. The experience of cooking at the table was memorable, and while there were a few hiccups with the service, it’s still a fun, tourist-friendly spot if you’re looking for something different after a visit to...

Late review but was too lazy to type earlier
Gave one star since its impossible to give 0 stars
Reached at 730pm and sat down RIGHT OUTSIDE THE STORE (caps this in order to prevent confusion with the staff handling this google review)
I DID NOT LEFT THE STORE. I SAT OUTSIDE.
I waited till 830 pm when i realised people who came after me were entering so i was so confused ?
I walked over to the name sheet and realised the name sheet with my name is gone?
But i did not once heard my name being called.
So i talked to a staff and she just simply wrote my name one a new name sheet. I waited since i thought the food is going to be good.
After that, i waited till 9pm and i walk over to the name sheet to check if my name is coming up soon.
I realised there was one more name before me so i waited patiently for the staff to call out the previous person.
But to my horror the staff only called the previous customer name ONCE. ?????????????????????
Is this the reason why my name was missed previously? Why does this staff call our everybody’s name 3 times but only called the previous customer name once?
Is it because the customer name is a chinese-sounding one? I dont want to have too many doubts about the staff (short hair with black and blonde) but what kind of service is this just skipping over another customer? Ridiculous.
Moving on, i ordered the famous fish roe monjayaki and signature omonoyaki.
Bless everyone’s tastebuds in the google reviews because this was the WORST MEAL I had throughout my entire japan trip.
How is it possible that this shop has a rating of over 4.5….?
The monjayaki was extremely salty and the omonoyaki was extremely sweet + salty?
I could not belive i waited for 2 whole hours to tasted such trash food. This shop is definitely good for instagram (monjayaki) but to those who are reading this review, I would recommend you searching more alternative restaurants.
Also, after finishing a glass of beer, i decided to order another one, i had to ask the staff 3 times and yet my beer DID NOT CAME ??? So i decided to ask another staff for my glass of beer and it finally came = so in total, i had 2 glasses of beer
But in the reciept they charged me for 3 beers? -.- luckily i spotted that before paying
TLDR; Bad service staff (skip customers name + did not provide my drink and yet charge for it) & horrible horrible horrible...
Read moreI had an absolutely dreadful experience at this restaurant, unlike any I've ever encountered. We endured a two-hour wait, during which we noticed numerous people behind us on the list being seated more promptly, which we reluctantly accepted. Finally, we were seated at 10 PM, unaware that they closed at 11 PM, as no one had informed us. We were compelled to order one dishes per person, citing their policy. I politely inquired if we could order just three, considering our limited time, but we were met with a firm refusal.
While we acknowledged that rules must be followed, it was utterly unreasonable to enforce this policy when we had only 30-40mins to consume all four dishes. With approximately 15 minutes of cooking time for appetizers and four main courses, we were left with a mere 30-40 minutes to finish everything—a preposterous expectation. To compound our frustration, around 10:45 PM, we were informed that the remaining dishes needed to be prepared urgently, as the restaurant had to close at 11 PM—a revelation that had eluded us until that moment.
I vehemently caution anyone planning to dine here near closing time to be aware of the 11 PM closing hour. Furthermore, be prepared to order one dish per person and consume them all within a tight 30-40 minute window. This establishment does not allow you to savor your meal, even after enduring a lengthy wait. If my friend asks me about this place, I would recommend they not wait, but rather search somewhere else and save their valuable time. It's not worth your time and money...
