New TORIGIN — Restaurant in Tokyo

For 24 years i always visited Torigin (next door of new torigin) today, by concident because of the torogin queue is long, i go for the so called new torigin. Apperantly, while i'm waiting, i talk to the one of the guess for new torigin ( two senior japanese lady) she said to me this NEW torigin is actually the original torigin. I feel motivated to try and apperantly after 24 years visiting torigin every year, i have an affair to their neighbour ( New torigin) and i must say NEW torigin taste better. Their yakitori is more tastefull, moist and i dont know, i just love it. For the kamameshi, we order few type, we love the combination kamameshi, the rice is full flavor. Highly recommended. This unassuming Ginza establishment in an alleyway inspired a lifetime of yakitori worship from me. I had never had yakitori before so thought it pertinent to try a few different places before proclaiming this one as the best. But here I am... Something those guys are doing back there.. dunking meat in vats of sauce, shaking seasoning blends haphazardly over the skewers, charring the hell out of chicken skin in a cloud of smoke... is special. None of it looks different than other yakitori places I went to but rest assured, they are doing some black magic back there because the end result is just mind-blowing. Perfect crispiness, juicy meat, amazing texture. Definitely get the chicken skin and wings. Mushrooms...

Came here for a quick supper and was initially seated at the counter since I was a solo diner, although I asked for a table but was told it was full; however, after nearly 20 minutes of sitting there, the smoke from the burning charcoal grill was too intense for me as it was irritating my eyes and I asked them again to sit me at a table to get away from the smoke.

This time, there was an available table upstairs and I gladly moved. The yakitori choices were really delicious and I wished that I could order more but it took too long and I didn’t want to take up their time by hogging the table.
