Came here craving other than Japanese food. There were a lot of people who had got off work so it was busy on a Wednesday night. It’s located in the basement of an office building. The inside is nice and spacious and they have a double height space that looks out to the plaza above.
We ordered a la carte dinner dishes. We read reviews about a buffet being served but that wasn’t our experience. Maybe for lunch. The servers were really nice, even with their limited English.
We ordered red sangria (10/10) which were sweet and had very little alcohol, iced cold Asahi draft, and a house wine. For food we got the Caesar salad, squid ink spaghetti and Chicken Diavola (spicy chicken) medium pizza. The spaghetti wasn’t creamy, it was more acidic than we’re used to. Read morePIZZA SALVATORE CUOMO & BAR Shinjuku is an Italian restaurant with Japanese twost to it. Founded by Salvatore Cuomo, a pioneer in introducing Neapolitan pizza to Japan, the restaurant offers an Italian dining experience with a focus on traditional wood-fired pizzas, that are pretty good tbh 😍 place can be pretty crowded during the peek hours, so you may want to get a reservation, especially for their linch buffet on weekend. I honestly recommend the lunch time during weekdays if you have some more time, it’s cheaper (and even more of you reserve with tabelog) and less crowded. Their salads and pasta selection are very good and their staff is just lovely. And you may get a free sparkling wine depending on type of reservation 🥂 Been there already many times and always find it great quality,...

Chose this place on a whim as it’s close to our hotel, but we were more than pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food here. We ordered two pizzas - classic margherita and the rucola / ham pizza, and both were fantastic. Perfect char on the crust and the toppings were exactly right. Also ordered a caprese salad, which had extraordinary tomatoes and perfect mozzarella. Gelato for dessert -outstanding! Prices were reasonable for Tokyo and the atmosphere is lively without being over the top. True Italian in Japan is hard to find, but this place fits the bill. Worth a visit if you’re...
