You guys can also watch the FULL vlogs on my YouTube! Link in bio ❤️ follow @orianafindlay for more 🇯🇵 A bit more info from the video: - The chicken ramen spot is called “Ramen Hayashida” even the broth is made from chicken stock and contains no pork! So if you don’t eat pork this is a great place to try some authentic ramen. I’m still dreaming of this ramen! - The vintage area I visited is called Koenjiminami - it has a lot of hip vintage stores for those who are into the “Americana” aesthetic - lots of sportswear like Colombia, Dickies and even retro football team shirts. It does have some vintage designer too, you can checkout Atlantis Vintage for that! More to come on vintage designer shopping soon though! - Nakano Broadway is a must-visit. It has loads of vintage designers shops, and if you’re interested in watches in particular you’ll be in heaven! It’s also a foodies paradise, I recommend heading to the basement level where you’ll find Daily Chico, which has the tallest ice cream in Japan! Make sure to also checkout the pet shop which also has an ethical cat cafe upstairs 🐈 - Besides our Omakase dinner we didn’t make any reservations in Tokyo - we preferred to roam the backstreets of Shibuya and Shinjuku looking for food. Restaurants do close earlier in Tokyo though so keep this in mind! We stumbled across Hashidaya, the cutest izakaya specialising in chicken dishes. The food was soooo good - I highly recommend the chicken tempura with sticky sauce and the wings too! Also have a glass of plum wine (it’s delicious!) and goes well. - For after-dinner drinks we went to Family Mart (Yes, Family Mart the convenience store!) in Shibuya. Such a unique experience drinking plum wine in a supermarket 🤔 we then found a speakeasy a few streets down called Bar Legacy which was super cute! #tokyotrip #tokyotravel #tokyominivlog #tokyovlog #adayinmylife #japan #japantravels #tokyotravelguide

We figured to end our last night in Japan with ramen! (We start with ramen and end with ramen). We actually attempted to come to Ramen Hayashida on our first night, but they closed earlier than their hours (guessing they sold out), but during our visit, we were recommend by one of the chef (at The Den) to check this place out. In our experience, there was a line up building, it does move fairly quick. Be sure to know the menu beforehand (although its all in Japanese), to get an idea of what to order (you have to order and pay via their vending machine). We got the duck broth and the tsukemen. Overall, very flavorful. The egg is perfection. I am glad this was the last ramen we had heading back. Worth the line up. Overall Kel rating: ★★★★★/5 The good: Very well priced, good broth, perfect egg The decent: Menu is in Japanese, try to have an idea of what to order prior to getting to the vending machine. The ugly: Line up is almost certain.

Ramen Hayashida in Shinjuku is a Michelin one-star restaurant, and it absolutely lives up to the hype! From the moment we arrived, it was clear why this place is so highly regarded.

We anticipated a long line, so we arrived an hour before their 6:30 pm opening for dinner. To our delight, they operate a numbering system starting at 5:30 pm. This allowed us to take a number and return later, rather than standing in line the entire time—a thoughtful and convenient touch.

The ramen itself was extraordinary. The broth was a complex masterpiece, rich in flavor and clearly the result of meticulous preparation. The noodles were perfectly cooked, providing the ideal complement to the broth.

Once inside, we noticed the quick turnover of tables. Even if you don't make the first seating, there's a good chance you'll get a spot soon after, as diners typically finish within 20 to 30 minutes.

In summary, Ramen Hayashida offers an exceptional dining experience. The quality of the food, combined with the efficient seating system, makes it a must-visit. We highly recommend this gem to any ramen lover...

We came here about 11:30am, there is a line about 20 people, we lined at the end, line doesn’t move fast, my friend went to buy a cup of coffee, I still wait at the same position. A women form the restaurant came out to count people on line, I told her we’re two. My friend is coming back in two minutes. She’s gone inside the restaurant. Two minutes later, the woman is coming out to count again, she saw only me in the line, she asked me to move to the end of line very rudely! At that moment there’s still about 20 people ahead. I followed her instruction, moved to the end. One minute later, She’s counting people again. Very surprised, this time , she asked me to stand out of the line! I have traveled many countries, been many restaurants, this is the first time I met so RUDE restaurant staff! The woman doesn’t understand English at all, maybe it’s the reason? Don’t come here! They won’t treat you in...
