If you are a coffee connoisseur, this is the place for you. The coffee here was on point! I used to own a coffee shop and was very particular about how I made my coffee. I watched them make my coffee, and they were meticulous about making the perfect cup.
I ordered an espresso and a natural processed Yemeni pour-over. The espresso was a blend of Brazilian and Ethiopian beans. The Ethiopian fruitiness definitely shone through, with the Brazilian beans rounding out the flavor. It was one of those shots of espresso that really made you feel good and perk you up. The pour-over was great; chocolatey and fruity (as you would expect from a naturally processed coffee).
There was a sign for pancake biscuits covered in fresh strawberries that caught my eye. I realized that the Yemeni pour-over would pair perfectly with the strawberries, and I love Japanese strawberries. The critical reviews on Google made me want to try them, too (a bunch of people who didn't realize that these were more like biscuits than pancakes). I quickly ordered them, and they came out just minutes later while my coffee was still hot. It was exactly how I would expect pan-made biscuits to be (which was good), and the dish definitely paired well with the coffee. The strawberries (which were seasonal) were very juicy and ripe. Not as stellar as the ones I had from Fukushima the day prior (which were so good I will fondly remember them for years to come), but still very good.
The staff behind the counter were great and willing to answer all of my many questions (I'm one of those people at coffee shops). When I ordered the strawberry-covered biscuit pancakes, they wanted to make sure I clearly understood they were more like biscuits and that the strawberry option was much more expensive than the regular. I understood, since strawberries and fruit in general were expensive here due to things such as high quality and limited space.
So in all, I would highly recommend this place for your morning cup of coffee and breakfast. For me, my second breakfast, and still devoured my tasty...
Read moreI want to clarify right away that this place serves BISCUIT PANCAKES! In other words, these are NOT your usual fluffy pancakes. Instead, they're on the crumbly and dry side so please keep that in mind before ordering 🙏 I just think it's unfair to give this place a low rating for pancakes that are intentionally made that way 🥺
As noted, I ordered biscuit pancakes and a hot latte. The biscuit pancakes were quite interesting! You're definitely meant to use the maple syrup, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream when you eat the pancakes. Otherwise, it may be too dry 😊 Once I began using the different toppings, I started appreciating the pancakes and thought they went well together! 🥞 The iced latte was alright and leans toward the light side.
This place gets pretty full really fast on the weekend so I definitely recommend either going at an odd time or on the weekday if possible!
As a suggestion, I recommend the cafe create a sign explaining what biscuit pancakes are so people know what to expect when ordering and avoid leaving...
Read morethis place was pretty busy when i visited (weekend, midday) and it was fairly loud inside. you order at the counter, take a seat, and then wait for the buzzer to go off at which point you pick up whatever you ordered. i got the matcha latte and the lemon curd pancakes. the matcha latte was actually really tasty and interesting because id never had matcha with espresso before and it was a fun combo i’d definitely recommend. the pancakes were not good at all, they were super dry and almost impossible to eat. the most try pancakes i’ve ever had in my life. the sandwich my mom ordered wasn’t very good either. i’d recommend staying away from the food and sticking...
