Located on the fourth floor of the 東京楽天地浅草ビル Tokyo Rakutenchi Asakusa Building is a collection of eight drinking/dining establishments. I only tried one of the shops on my visit in January 2024 although there were several that I will try on my next visit. 日本栄光酒場 ロッキーカナイ 浅草横町 (Nihon eikō sakaba rokkīkanai Asakusa yokochō) Rocky Kanai is a Korean drinking/dining restaurant with a selection of raw horse meat dishes. I ordered a tokkuri (flask) of Rocky's recommended (osuzume) nihonshu (sake). The Miwatari sake from Nagano was dry and nicely chilled. It was accompanied by a tasty, hot (spicy) chicken over shredded cabbage (otoshi). VERY tasty! I ordered the 馬肉レッドカーペット (Horse meat red carpet). It was a plate of slices of raw horse meat sprinkled generously with hot (spicy) pepper. While tasty, on another visit I would try the 馬肉わさ (horse meat with wasabi) or ロッキーユッケ (Rocky's horse meat tartare). I sat at a table in the shop but there is also a communal outside rooftop seating area with a view of the Skytree. The first floor of this building has an excellent grocery/sake shop with fancy items suitable for gifts (まるごとにっぽん Marugoto Nippon).
Update. I visited several times on a visit to Tokyo in January. I will maintain that the otoshi here is delicious. A spicy chicken salad. My new favorite dish is the torisashi (lightly seared raw chicken). VERY toothsome. I also ordered Rocky's horse meat tartare. Delicious. Also tried the amaebi karaage. Served atop french fries (not one of my favorites). The...

The karaage was the best dish we had, but it was relatively the same as all karaage taste. The menu is targeted to foreigners with some interesting fusion ideas. Overall taste was average and price was high. Staff were friendly.
Overrated currently on Google Maps. It is located on Level 4 in the Asakusa Yokocho complex. There is little atmosphere when it was empty the entire time we dined. Food took a total of 35 minutes to arrive, being delivered...
Read moreThis great little izakaya is tucked away on the fourth floor of the Uniqlo/Richmond hotel building that's across from the Don Kihote. It seems to be Indian -owned and there is a Indian-spin on many of the dishes. The food is delicious, service is great, and it's a very fun and relaxing way to unwind after a very busy day of shopping and sightseeing in Asakusa. You order on your phone and the menu is available in English. I would show pictures but unfortunately I devoured all my food...
