The Special "Sushi HICHO" Set Menu at this Shibuya restaurant was an absolutely phenomenal experience! It's a must-try for any sushi lover in Tokyo. The value of the 25-dish tasting menu for JPY 11,900 (plus tax) is incredible, offering a luxurious journey through appetizers, sashimi, nigiri, and more.
The meal was a masterful progression of flavors and textures, with highlights including the succulent Steamed Scallops and the beautifully cooked Anago (sea eel) nigiri with its caramelized glaze. The Shrimp nigiri was also wonderfully fresh and sweet. Every piece felt carefully crafted, showcasing the chef’s skill with excellent technique and ingredient selection.
The true climax of the meal, though, was the spectacular "Sea Urchin Dog."
Pictured here, this handroll is a decadent explosion of flavor. It features a generous, bright orange helping of Ogawa Uni (sea urchin)—visible in its box on the counter—nestled atop a white layer, all wrapped in crisp, dark nori seaweed. The uni was intensely creamy and sweet, a pure taste of the ocean that simply melted on the tongue. It's a signature item that truly elevates the entire experience.
The set also included delightful starters, such as the creamy Yuba (tofu skin) with a sweet sauce and a dish with shirasu (whitebait) and green onions. The final touch was a refreshing dessert to cleanse the palate. For those looking to complete the experience, the Sake Pairing options are tempting.

Read moreJust a one-minute walk from Shibuya Station’s New South Exit – the location is extremely convenient. I ordered the special 25-course omakase, and every single item had a thoughtful touch. Watching the chef prepare sushi at the counter added to the experience. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, so even first-time visitors to a sushi restaurant can feel relaxed.
One of the highlights was the seared bonito, smoked right in front of me with cherry wood chips. The aroma was wonderful, and the freshness of the fish made it absolutely delicious.
The sushi was served at the perfect pace, each piece showing the chef’s extra care. My personal favorite was the marinated Oma bluefin tuna. At first, I thought it was just a simple soy-marinated tuna, but once I tasted it, the subtle flavors of mustard and yuzu came through, creating a delicate balance that was really special. Other standouts included white squid, striped jack, seared fatty tuna, and crispy young sweetfish tempura – all fresh and flavorful.
If there’s one item I’d strongly recommend, it’s the Uni “Dog.” True to its name, it layers rice, scallop, and a generous row of uni on top of nori. The rich sea urchin with the scallop was simply amazing and felt like a great value.
Although the course has 25 items, it never felt overwhelming. Each dish was beautifully prepared, and together with the presentation, flavors, and atmosphere, it made for an outstanding dining experience. Highly recommended if you’re looking for top-quality sushi in...
Read moreWhat a gem just a few minutes from Shibuya Station. From Exit C2/Shibuya Stream, cross the 3rd floor passage to the JR Shinminami/New South Gate then head to Shibuya Sakura Stage. From New South Gate, the restaurant is 1 minute walk away. We had the 25-course set with friends and we were all absolutely blown away by the quality and value. It had everything we could have asked for: appetizers, egg custard, sushi, sashimi, a maki roll, a mini rice bowl, soup and dessert. The most generous add-on of sea urchin and scallop nigiri is such a must try!!! The excitement around the table while that was being prepared made the whole experience even better. The scallop was torched to perfection then Hokkaido uni was showcased and was generously added to the nigiri. It was perfection.
Sitting at the counter was fun. I was able to watch them carefully prepare each piece of sushi. It made the meal feel extra special. There’s also a private area. Everything was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully made. Even though it’s right by one of the busiest stations in Tokyo, the restaurant is tucked away in a lovely spot and has such a nice ambience.
We sat by a couple celebrating a birthday at the counter and it just felt like the perfect place for something memorable. They also have a great sake selection and I had so much fun trying a few. We went for lunch but I imagine dinner would be just as amazing. Honestly, this was such an unforgettable meal. When exploring Shibuya, it's the...
