Walked in from a day of adventure around the city. After seeking refuge from the packed transit system and rainy streets my wife happened upon this Ramen place. The warm delicious broth soothed our weary souls, and the pleasant service, tall beers, and ambiance of subtle piano jazz combined with the delicious noodles and meat flavorings made this a memorable night. I would highly recommend coming here for delicious ramen and comfort.

2024/7/17 こうようつけめん(1300円) 大盛り(150円) 味玉(110円) 天ぷら蕎麦の異性体 1982年創業。中野の人気店だった1961年創業の「手打ち中華高揚」出身の方のお店。こちら「新高揚」も同じく人気店で名物なのが、台湾の定番料理である「排骨」(パイクー)という豚ロースの唐揚げ。それをドンと乗っけたインパクトと、そこになかなかお目にかかれない青竹打ちの麺と共に提供されるラーメン。ちなみに出身元のお店は残念ながら2005年に閉店。この日は平日の仕事を済ませて新宿での用事へと向かう途中、そういえばここ来てなかったなと思い返しちょうど夕飯時だし入ってみるかと初訪問。注文は豚より鶏の気分だったので鶏ササミの唐揚げが乗るこうようつけめんのほうをチョイス。なんで豚のほうは「排骨」(パイクー)と呼んで鶏のほうは「鶏排」(ジーパイ)と呼ばないんだろう。蕎麦屋で扱われそうな木製のトレーに麺、鶏唐揚げ、薬味が乗り、薬味ただようシンプルそうなつけ汁が登場。トレーがデカいのでやや所狭し。くそぅ写真撮るの難しすぎる……！つけ汁は鶏ガラ魚介の香りによる支えの元に酢の酸味、力強い醤油で食わせる古き良き系。一味や胡椒をたっぷり入れて老舗名店「丸長」ライクにするのも良いがカイワレやネギ、唐揚げとの相性を考えるとこの強い醤油味は崩さずに食べたいところ。これに甘さとごま油を足したら、スープ割した油淋鶏のタレみたいな味になりそう。鶏ササミの唐揚げは大粒。ちゃんとカットされていて嬉しい！しかも注文都度揚げるので揚げたてサクサク！これも嬉しい！衣の下味は結構しっかりとついておりご飯に合うタイプのフライドチキン感。これを醤油感強いつけ汁に潜らせ薬味を巻き付けて食べるとホンマ堪らん。既につけ汁に薬味入っているのになんで別盛りで薬味あんの？と思ってたがこんなバチコリな相性ならつけ汁の薬味だけじゃ足りんですわ。麺は自家製の平たい中太ストレート。珍しい青竹打ちという製法なので、同様の製法である佐野ラーメンに似た滑らかな食感に、ふつんっと噛み切れる柔らかな啜り心地がある。中華麺のザルスタイルなので時間が経つと解しにくくなるためさっさと頂くか、都度都度麺を弄ってくっつかないようにしながら食べるのが吉。これ、麺じゃなくてご飯でも成立するなぁ。それほどつけ汁と鶏唐の相性が良い。

Stumbled across this nice little place, I ordered the pork spare ribs ramen. Pork was succulent, ramen was fresh and the soup temperature was nice and hot, just how ramen is meant to be served. Friendly staff and great customer service. Would have given 5 stars if the soup had just a touch more flavour.

With my favorite ramen restaurant mensai ramen closing location after location I had to find a new restaurant that served fried pork with my noodles. This place did not disappoint. The serving sizes are bigger, so much so that ordering extra portions is not for the feint of heart. The drinks also come in larger glasses, so I don't feel like I'm being ripped off when I order a coke or a beer. The sitting area is on the small size, but it's worth it. Highly...
