We got there 6pm on a Monday and we were seated right away. Place is very small and cramped / bar-style
The price of regular / non-spicy small, medium, large is the same (¥880) so we got a medium bowl each but it was too much for us / kind of overkill towards the end because it had a loooooot of noodles 😂
There is an option for spicy (¥980 regardless of the size) and an option with extra extra toppings (forgot the price but if I remember correctly, it will come out to around ¥1200+)
They have instructions on how to enjoy abura soba which we followed. But I ended up adding more vinegar, chili oil and onion than instructed to get the "enhanced" flavor that I want - but would recommend for you to add slowly first and just adjust according to your liking
If you like dry noodles, this is worth trying but reco for you to get the regular first then if you like it, just order extra noodles
Staff could be friendlier and because it is a bar seating / open kitchen, expect to smell a...
Read moreVery very yummy noodles for a fantastic price (under 1,000 yen per bowl). We had the spicy and non spicy version and both were great. Adding a soft boiled egg really elevates the experience. As someone who can tolerate a lot of spice (being South Asian), the spicy noodles ARE actually spicy. Do not make the mistake of thinking they are milder for the Japanese crowd. If you are unsure of spice level, get the non-spicy version and add the chilli garlic crisps (which comes on the side, so you can customise your spice level).
As tourists on our third day in Japan, we found the vending machine ordering system a little confusing. The vending machine is only in Japanese and the add-on section doesn’t have any pictures to help with the ordering. They do have an English menu on the side to help you order with the vending machine. Just make sure you insert cash first, then select your noodle and size, and then press add ons and eject...
Read moreMy favorite noodles, ever. Came at lunch time and wasn't too busy. The interior is small but the wait was less than 5 minutes.
For those who may be confused in the ordering (there isn't English on the machine) you select from 3 sizes (regular, large, extra large) and they are all the same price. These are in order so just select the middle one if you aren't sure. The large had good enough portions to have us satisfied. Then you can select set A or B. B is the spicer version so go for that if you like a nice kick. It's not overly spicy and we preferred B. Then you put in cash and you'll get tickets to hand to the staff and they will direct you to your seats once open.
Personally I didn't need to add any extra vinegar or oil but you can definitely experiment with it. The additional onions were okay to add but also not necessary in my opinion. The default noodles are...
