Viet Nhat — Restaurant in Tokyo

Very poor service, the waiter is pleasant but has its head in the clouds and is way too relaxed, unprofessional.

From the beginning, they had plenty of free seats on the counter and tables clean and ready to sit people but they made us wait regardless for 15 mins.

Then once we were finally invited in, we witnessed him first taking orders from two groups that came after us (maybe they were Vietnamese and got preferential treatment).

We ordered and he forgot part of our order, then the food we had didn’t have too much flavor - chicken soup was very bland - Viet food is usually very perfumed and full of flavor, this was mediocre at best.

The nems were dripping with oil.

When I ordered a second banh mi because my chicken soup was so bland and FULL of noodles that I couldn’t finish it, he again forgot to bring the ordered bahn mi that at this point we had waited for 20’.

It was on the bill.

Also, table full of dishes for 30+ mins and no attention from him, too busy scrolling and sipping on his drink and making jokes w him colleagues.

I left angry and annoyed. Wasted 2 hours of my life...

This restaurant is located near the language school that I attend and I have never been more grateful. It is a taste of home (not 100% authentic but it clearly is made with skill and familiarity of the cuisine) and genuinely the best Viet food I have found in Japan. It is so comforting to be able to come in and be surrounded by the flavors and scents of my favorite foods. The bánh xèo and bánh khọt are two of my favorite dishes from the Dinner menu; though, honestly, you can't go wrong with anything from the Dinner menu. I am quite partial to ordering the half size shabu shabu pho with a cola before class off of the Lunch menu. If I get it; I know that it will be a good day ahead. I have brought numerous friends with me and they have all loved the food, atmosphere and service provided by Viet Nhat. These boys are special. They gave me and my parents such a lovely warm and welcoming time. The food was INSANELY good and then as we were last to leave, as usual, they didn’t mind coming over and doing shots with us and telling us about themselves. Awesome place and very highly recommend. Spice levels as expected are high so watch that and just ask, which is what they did. The Bahn Mi and Pho is the best I’ve ever had
