Yakiniku & Wine Daigo Ginza — Restaurant in Tokyo

Don’t let the signs fool you on the outside that lead you to a “premium yakiniku lunch” because it will lead you to disappointment.

First, we were the only ones in the restaurant during lunch hour which should be a sign. We tried to walk into another place prior to this and they were fully booked for lunch, so definitely the popular ones get filled.

Now you might be wondering why the low review, we will get there.

The place is a little bit older, the price point isn’t far off from similar rated locations in the area, and they said their Kobe beef is legit from Kobe. We ordered that Kobe beef set just to give this premium experience a full try.

The service is slow as many have described. It could be because they’re preparing everything from scratch, but we aren’t sure as they never came back to tell us anything until the food was served.

The meat quality is decent, but that’s where the positives end. The salad doesn’t seem too fresh and the rice… well my wife was eating her rice and found something chewy. Upon further inspection, it was a small balled up piece of Saran Wrap (see photos). It was literally a small piece that I watched her unwrap in layers before we got to the final piece, it would be horrific if it was swallowed.

The restaurant seemed tepid at best in the severity of this contamination. We got a replacement bowl of rice and that’s all. You would think as a principle they would do something like comp a meal or something else, but a replacement bowl of rice for an already lost appetite was the best we got.

If you want to try a yakiniku experience in Tokyo, go anywhere but here. You will have to deal with potential choking hazards and if you’re lucky, just leave disappointed you didn’t read this review first and...

Tried this spot for lunch and was seriously impressed. Their lunch special was only $11, and the quality of the wagyu beef was amazing for the price. The food was delicious, the staff were super friendly, and the service was great. The place is clean, not smoky at all (which is a huge plus), and even the restrooms were well kept. Definitely a great value—will be coming...

This was an EXTREMELY good restaurant. Although the price might not be for everyone. IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH IT. The food is so good, the place is very clean, and the workers and staff is extraordinary nice. They are also very funny. I will definitely go back here if I ever go back to Japan. Shoutout to the worker from Myanmar! She is so funny and sweet...
