Beware of the 2200 JPY table charge per person and that the prices are listed without 10% tax. We were shocked when we ordered food and drinks for around 6500-7000 JPY and were hit with a 12'000 bill! The food was not better than any other decent izakaya, and service was a bit spotty (wobbly & clumsy serving and we didn't get water nor refills unless asked despite all empty glasses. The younger waitress also had a permanent scowl). Portion sizes are on the small side and the tempura was soggy. The atmosphere was loud and drunkenly cheerful from the other tables, which also didn't quite fit the bill and interior ambience. Despite a 6pm starting time, we got seated immediately with only one condition that we must leave by 8pm before the next reservation. The staff was very attentive and the local Japanese regional dishes were Outstanding. Some of the seafood pickles were very pungent, not for the faint hearted but full of umami. The grilled yellow tail is highly recommended. We left full and happy, had our tastebuds satisfied, outstanding value at ¥8000 each (food only)....
