RIO’S Buongustaio — Restaurant in Yokohama

The boss Rio saw on my reservation I am Italian and came over the minute I sat down. He speaks good Italian and lived and trained there for 7 years. The set meal was a delight. Each element of the course was so delicately seasoned, it’s the food I grew up eating. I’d recommend the set as you get to taste everything. The trippa romana was stewed to perfection, even in Rome you don’t always get soft seasoned tripe. The acqua pazza broth was rich and flavourful, the fish and mussels sweet. The meat plate was venison which was beautifully cooked and seasoned. Bucatini all’amatriciana was just great, pasta very al dente just like in Rome. Tiramisu also very well done.
