Quite disappointed with the move Break for a Bread did last year. The old shop was 100x better with food, service and location. Found out the location is now in the Heuan Chan Heritage House.
When we arrived you have to pay an admission to enter the place (but from what we saw online you can use the ticket price for the cafe) which is not true. We tried using it for our drinks but was told you cannot, only for the other part of the cafe. Very strange having two different spots. We were waiting for almost 10 minutes as well with no server to menu, so I had to get up myself and ask some workers doing other things on site. The service is very poor now from what I experienced in the past. I feel it is now a money trap scam. Admission for 2 (20,000) Not included for drinks apparently just food. We ended up paying (45,000).
Worst part is I was expecting to drink the Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, but they have removed it from the menu. Disappointing and won't return in the...
Read moreNice food, good flavours and really great value (20,000LAK for sandwiches). Somewhat let down by the emptiness of the banh mi (we got the pork), there was very little meat in it and therefore difficult to appreciate the flavour, but I suppose you can’t complain too much given the cost. Pork skewer was the highlight for me, but be aware that the menu price advertises price per skewer (in comparison to the chicken satay (5pc)), so if you’re hungry you’ll need to specify. Vietnamese coffee was nice, it was my first time trying it ever
NB pay in kip - we tried to pay in THB since we hadn’t much Kip on us at the time and we’re given a calculator with the price 427THB - our bill had only come to 77,000LAK, so it should have only been around 160THB…terrible rate almost...
Read moreWe ordered the vegetarian banh mi without mayo or anything else animal related. We got a sandwich which had some seaweed in it, which was nice at first side, but the weed was filled with pork. After complaining, the waitress just took out the disgusting meat and nothing else besides a lettuce leave and small cucumber pieces were left in it. She didn't even apologize at this moment. No alternative offered. They still asked for the full price.
They have a veggie sandwich on the menu, so they should know the whole concept of vegetarians, and we specifically asked for no meat and no mayo. Most vegans wouldn't even finish the sandwich after discovering it was filled with...
