Recommended by Airbnb host so I dropped by for their 10 USD lunch set. Boy was it good! I felt like I stepped into a small French bistro in the Parisian suburbs or somewhere like Strasbourg or Nice for a short afternoon.

I got the 3 course lunch. I am not an expert in French cuisine by any means but I could tell that the chef employed traditionally French culinary skills, like very well done puree, delicious cream based sauce, delicate plating, etc. I also enjoyed the fact that the ingredients are typically Lao/Asian, as the amazing fish dish I tried, I was pretty sure was tilapia — and I have never tasted it like that.

There is also a variety of choices in the lunch set, including fish and vegetarian options. Staff was great. I saw a man whom I presumed was the French chef/owner smiling at guests and talking to some. One of the Lao waitstaff also spoke French from...

True French bistro cuisine cooked by a chef that has a passion for cooking. This shows by the food served and the chef himself checking that everything is ok with the food. We left very happy and the price is very fair. The pumpkin soup with blue cheese was delicious. Pate en croute was fantastic and to finish off the duck was cooked to perfection (medium rare for me and medium for my partner) with a delicious green peppercorn sauce and an amazing potato waffle with onion and bacon bits which was a first for me, but works so well!

Not to mention the bread and butter to start was very fresh and the red wine for the meal was also really, really nice.

Next time we...

As soon as we entered the restaurant, we smelled the smell of toilets. The mixed race waiter said he was sure it was not the smell of toilets. There were very few choices on the menu. We couldn't order the food that the children wanted to eat. We decided to change restaurants. We didn't touch the water glasses that were brought to us, nor did we touch anything on the table. We just looked at the menu. The only waiter said that we had to pay a fine. Oh, I thought it was too much and told him that since he felt that we had to pay a fine, please call the police. He said a very dirty curse word. I strongly do not recommend...

We are family with 2 young kids. Our food came in fast, and very satisfying. However we felt the restaurant may not be suitable for families with kids. We tried to keep my children’s noise at the minimum level and we even did not speak during the meal, the restaurant was still very noisy during its crowded time. The waiter still came to ask us (not in an appropriate manner) to reduce our kids’ noise although other tables were making louder noise. We felt very uncomfortable and concerned and do not recommend this restaurant to families with kids to avoid bad experience like us.
