I love PVO and come here regularly for lunch -- it's a popular fixture in Vientiane and locally famous for a reason. Lots of great Vietnamese options and fruit shakes available. The Banh Mi (Kao Gee) are popular, very filling, and really affordable. On my last visit I had grilled pork and rice noodles served with a plate of fresh lettuce, basil, and other greens. The first bite (and each one after) was amazing -- just really delicious, I can't get enough of this dish. I also like PVO's wide selection of fruit shakes. I typically finish up with coffee across the street, but always stop to buy some of their ready made items -- spring rolls, or even better, some of the grilled pastry/desserts. Fish shaped breads filled with taro or grilled shredded coconut -- desserts familiar to people who've also traveled through Thailand.

The service is quick and efficient -- this is a busy restaurant, but honestly it's one of the things I love the most. Lots of locals, expats, and tourists in the know eating together -- the restaurant has energy. If you're looking for a quiet meal, it's best to eat off hours, but if you're seeking a good, busy vibe, this...

This restaurant was honestly one of the best lunch places I’ve visited in my month in SE Asia, the restaurant layout and decor are great, the staff are really friendly and inviting and alleviated my worries about not being able to communicate in Laotian or Vietnamese, the waiter took my order using a tablet so I knew the standards of this place was high.

The food….wow - firstly the portion was enormous (no complaints) and the taste was out of this world, the flavours and herbs that punched through the food were incredible, i haven’t felt that satisfied from a meal in a while. The options for both food and drinks were really good and the restaurant was accommodating to a slight dish change that we asked for which was great. Also to note, I am a veggie and the options here were superb

The place also doubles up as a takeaway or sandwiches as well. My number 1 recommendation for lunch...

If you are looking an authentic Vietnamese Food within the city, this is the perfect place to taste the banh mi, phó and ban xeo,bi cuon or spring rolls and etc. but i recommend to taste their bun-mixed veggies noodles and meat with mouth watering sauce on it, and must try their fresh juices and coffee. The price is reasonable ranges to Lak 45-60,000. The place is quite busy during lunch time. Must enjoy and don't missed to taste the dessert around the corner for free -- it is mixed jellies and natas with coconut and sugar syrup add with ice for refreshing.

Perfect spot near the fish pond. Must take away also some other products there like sausage, meat floss , breads .

Must visit!

If you are looking for great Vietnamese food in Vientiane, this is the place to go. They have a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes to choose from. We ordered the Pork Pho (rice noodle soup served with fried bread and bean sprouts) & Bi Bun (pork rice noodles with a fried spring roll). Both of them were close to authentic flavor and the ingredients all seemed to be very fresh. The staff is friendly and spoke good english, making it seamless for us foreigners to order. The menu has english and Lao as well, so it is easy to look at the options. The place was very clean, including the toilet which was immaculate (this is hard to find in Laos). I highly recommend giving this place a try and I look forward to coming back and trying more of the yummy dishes.
