I give it a 5/5 because overall it's a great place to visit, and it's better than many other cat cafes that I've seen around the world.
I didn't come for food, only planned on ordering Americano (they messed up and made an espresso). But I spent a long time reading a book there so ordered 1 more Americano (this time they made it right) and an apple pie which was very tasty. The food and drinks are cheap, alternatively they ask for a small donation.
Cats were somewhat sleepy, but still adorable and friendly. You need to understand that if a cat doesn't want you to pet it, you should back off and not force it. The cat will come to you when it wants.
Sadly some of the staff needs to learn it too. Cats have natural interactions like grooming each other through which they establish hierarchy and dominance. It's not wise to interrupt them during this process. Also at one point a customer came to the door, the staff moved one cat further from the door. However she put the cat right onto another cat, so a mini fight with hissing broke out.
The Thai cat is very social and might feel out of place there, since he goes on to annoy other cats who might not be as social. Thai cats really need to have a group of their own to be happy.
I liked the cafe a lot, but I think they need to put literature or just simple guidelines about human-cat interaction. It will help both visitors...
Read moreGood concept and the cats are gorgeous, but the staff need to follow their own rules. As there were only 3 people in the cafe (myself, my Mum and one other), the staff started to tease the cats while they were sleeping. One staff member tried to get a cat to use an exercise wheel; when the cat sat down on it, she spun the wheel and the cat fell off, which she thought was really funny. The last straw was when she started pulling the tail and ears of one of the cats and then got annoyed when it scratched her. I told her off and then left. I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend this cafe until the staff learn to treat the cats...
Read moreThis could have been a place I would have come back to again and again but I don't feel that forcing your customers to buy two items.
Normally I buy several items when I come to a cafe, today I wanted just one.
The drinks were ok, not the best quality I've had.
The cats aren't that interested, very bored, don't even play with you.
It is no wonder the cafe is mostly empty.
The one thing I can say about it is the chill atmosphere is good but this doesn't replace the fact you can get this in many other cafes in Vientiane.
Will I be coming back again, probably not.
Just don't...
