We ate lunch here and this spot was so nice.

The staff were friendly (and that says a lot being in Riga because we felt like friendly service was not the case in 9/10 of restaurants - maybe language barrier?) and the interior quite nice, even though it is hard to eat on the sofas. It could probably be better arranged as far as seating goes. That does not matter much though because the food was so delicious!!!

There was a huge variety of dishes, which usually isn’t a great thing, but I get the sense that this chef can cook it all well. I had a lamb shank from new Zeeland which was quite expensive but cooked exactly as I had hoped; just falling off that bone and delicious. My daughter had a huge kids portion of salmon - also quite pricey but enough for 2 kids and she ate a lot! My husband had ribs and he cleaned his plate clean! We order some bruschetta for appetizer and as you can see on the picture it was almost a meal in itself!

So all in all a bit of a change in decor and a bit high pricing is the only issues I can find, but it depends on what you eat as far as pricing goes. It really was a great visit and amazing food in a nice little tucked away corner of otherwise very...

Never coming back!

Came here 5 years ago and had wonderful experience but this time it was a DISAPPOINTMENT!

I came to this restaurant two weeks ago with my family (7 people) to celebrate my brother’s birthday. All the tables indoors were booked and we were told we could sit outside.

1)The waiter said we have to put outside tables together by ourselves. This was the first red flag. Not even mentioning that the restaurant charge 10% extra from the bill when you are more than 6 people. It’s unacceptable for a restaurant to not arrange tables if necessary.

  1. The food wasn’t good. The Cesar salad had chicken that was so dry like the Sahar desert and the lettuce was yellow in some parts. The Fajitas (Mexican dish) had carrots and brussels sprouts in it. What Mexican dish is this? Actually almost every dish on our table had brussels sprouts in it, seemes like they had a lot of leftovers of that and just put in every dish.

The total bill of 7 people was 170€ for 3 salds, Fajita dish, Poke bowl, two meat dishes and each had a drink. Definitely not...

Walked in at around 10pm (they work until 11pm), was greeted by a waitress who was visibly upset who said they don’t serve food. I said ok we are just here for a drink. Sat down. Another waitress was hanging out with her friends and only after some time approached and brought us menus saying they don’t have food. Once again I say we are here only for a drink. 10 minutes after bringing the menus no one came to take our order. One of the waitress was cleaning up tables, another one was inside on the phone. I walk into the bar and ask if we could be served. The bar man who says he goes by name Amajaks says he is closing everything (it’s not even 10:30 yet) and if I want something I should order at the bar. I say why no one informed me I have been waiting outside with the menus the staff just gave me, he literary starts aggressively yelling at me asking what do I not understand. I say with this service I will leave to which he says, go ahead! Horrible experience in a place that used to be great. Never ever again...

Cydonia Gastro Pub – Riga Cydonia Gastropub is located in the historic Berg Bazars complex in the heart of Riga. Tucked away on one of the winding walkways in this arcade, it allows for a quiet, intimate dinner. Cydonia Gastropub has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is ideal for people-watching and socializing with friends passing by. The indoor area allows for quiet conversations and a haven if the weather is not cooperating. The menu has a variety of dishes for all tastes, but the majority of the mains are beef, pork, lamb, and chicken entrees. Kevin chose beef cheeks with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The savory meat was literally melt-in-your-mouth tender. Mary’s choice was beef goulash. Our dessert selection was Coconut Cheesecake with salted caramel chocolate and fresh berries drizzled with Baileys. It was a sweet ending to a lovely meal.

It was a rainy Monday and I walked to grab some dinner and this interesting looking place with an extensive menu. The server was very nice and helpful. I went ahead and ordered a beer as well as the poke bowl with shrimp. It looked beautiful and tasted beautiful. I got the teriyaki dressing which was actually a mayo based dressing, which came on the side. I'm not that big a fan of mayo, nonetheless, it tasted good and I added small amounts of it to the dish. The bowl came with mango, seaweed salad, edamame, cucumber, carrots, avocado, quinoa and pickled ginger. Was quite delicious! I wasn't full though, so I ordered sweet potato fries for dessert. Haha. That was really good! Overall, great food, service and atmosphere. Good for groups and kids. It is wheelchair accessible as well
