32Mansion / Beach Blanket Babylon — Restaurant in George Town

The service provided is under expectation especially the drop off service at the lobby, it was a rainy day but no waiter is there to provided umbrella or help to serve the customer to get down from the cars in order to prevent customer get wet, the first impression was broken.

Second, the attitude of the waiter named Suffian was really bad when ordering the food. We are asking for opinion and suggestion, but he is in a impatient mood and tone while talking to his customers. Instead of further elaborating more regarding the menu. The worst part is when we are asking for he dessert menu. The set dinner for event purpose is served, while the menu mentioned “your choice of dessert”, so we thought of we can choose our desired dessert from the Ala Carte Menu. However, the same waiter didn’t explain well instead showing us the behsyok face. Ok fine, so only 2 flavour of cakes is the choice for the set dinner dessert. Nevertheless, other guest from our table would like to order some dessert for their own pleasure, so we are asking for the menu. However,He was insisting something somehow and refuse to give us the menu even i had explained for so many times we want to see the menu and ordered something else, although we are not ordering the set dinner. Is it our unneccesity from customer side to order some dessert despite we are just ordering some ala carte dinner main course?? It really cause me to lost my temper. Ruined my mood, our mood for the night. So customer who is ordering the Set Dinner has no right to order their desired dessert, is that so??!

Thirdly, we had been to few Restaurant in Penang Island. Whenever the waiter would like to keep away the dishes we have already finished, the waiters would had asked for permission before keeping away. However, it is not the same in this restaurant. They just took it away as they wanted to when we put our dinnerwares down. It is so impolite. This happened to the same waiter.

It was a dinner for Anniversary purpose for my parents. I had also mentioned this when I made the reservation through TableApp and the call. Despite this, there is a “Happy Birthday” on the set dinner menu Title. I thought the setting decoratio would be a little surprised for my parent. But, end up it was So “funny”.

And the dancing area, was really, not meeting our expectation. It was hot also.

In conclusion, the experience for my family in this restuarant? Really Bad.

The food was soso only. The swiss chocolate cake is tooo sweet as a choice of dessert from the dinner set. My family and I think that we would not come back to this restaurant ever again. Thanks...

First time been there but will never return.

Environment: Environment is good for both indoor and outdoor. Indoor decoration is outstanding. Cozy environment but is quite hot. Keep sweating even not many table fill up with customer.

Servicing: Poor servicing. Called to understand the set dinner a day before and was told by one of the service crew (through phone call) where set dinner is serve for 2 pax (couple). When dine in, another service crew is telling to give up the set dinner cause the price is only for 1pax so we order alacart. Feeling curious because the price is meant for 2pax, so decided to ask 3rd service crew again and was told that it is meant for 2pax. I believe they try to giving wrong info so that you can spend more in the restaurant. Don't ever fall to their trap again. I should have read google review before went to this restaurant since some of the ppl already facing the same issue. Dishonest servicing.

Food/Drink: Ordered Red snapper and beef sirloin. Fish is fresh and taste is ok. Beef is disappointing. Asking for paris butter source but service crew insist to serve with chef recommended "perfect source" but end up tasteless. Source is tasteless, beef is tasteless as well. I am like paying so much money to try expensive tasteless food. I wonder how to cook a beef become tasteless, this is so SPECIAL!!!! Who ever want to try beef but afraid to the beef smell, you can try their restaurant. This is the worst Beef Sirloin i ever had. Even The Ship has better beef sirloin compare to them.

Drink Happy hour from 11am -8pm. Want to order cocktail at 730pm but again, told by the same service crew that indoor doesn't serve happy hour cocktail drink even they have the happy hour promotion card on my dining table. For what purpose!!!!!!

My 50cent recommendation, if you are looking for environment and willing for spend on expensive food, you may consider this restaurant. If you are looking for good food, good servicing and good environment, Beach Blanket Babylon is not...
