Located right beside the famous Chowrasta Market, this stall almost always has a long queue of people waiting for a thirst-quenching drink.

Glad we trusted one of the reviews that said to not be afraid of the queue. It was a fairly quick process and the server makes sure your order gets to you as soon as possible.

Air Sarbat is an awesomely refreshing drink that’s perfect after walking around on a sweltering hot day in the streets of Penang.

It is basically a sweet cordial drink with coconut water and slices, “kembang semangkuk” (Scaphium affine plant), almond gum and sarbat syrup. It also comes with basil seeds which add a nice texture to the sweet drink, and you can choose to add lychee or lemon to it.

The best part is that the ingredients are said to be helpful in cooling the body, which is what you’ll need if you’ve been out and about.

They’ve also got Cendol and Ais Kacang if that’s what you prefer.

Would personally recommend getting the ais...

This well-known ais tingkap stall in Penang has become a local favorite and a must-try for visitors, especially on hot days. Situated in a bustling area, it’s common to see a queue forming—particularly on weekends or during holidays—but the wait is definitely worth it. The signature ais tingkap, a traditional rose-flavored iced drink with herbs and basil seeds, is incredibly refreshing and perfect for cooling down in Penang’s tropical heat.

In addition to ais tingkap, the stall also offers a variety of other sweet drinks and traditional desserts, all at very affordable prices. It’s the perfect stop for a quick and satisfying treat while exploring the city. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning fan, this humble stall continues to deliver consistent quality and a nostalgic taste of Penang’s...

Heritage drink from 1919. Walking distance from Komtar and nearby chowrasta (you can find Jeruk Madu Pak Ali there). My favourite drink was the Sarbat with the twist of the lemon in it. Perfect beverage and thirst quencher especially under the hot sun. Their service is super fast, don’t be afraid of the long que, your order will be prepared and delivered within 5-10 minutes. The quality of the packaging I can said has been standardise compared to 2015. They also have bottled drink if you want to take them home or want to give to your love one as a souvenir. Overall, the price is cheap and reasonable, the taste is unique as they put some herb in it (it’s their secret ingredient) and you don’t need to wait for a long que, oh ya, they have QR payment as well. Don’t be afraid if you not bring any...

Very famous drink in penang. Very refreshing. Maybe the service quite slow due to number of crowd & the drinks prepared a fresh. Maybe can improve on the speed of service to cater number of crowd. Atmosphere is quite simple since it is hawker stall. Can be very hot, depending on the weather. Overall nice place to visit.
