TL;DR, best homemade, hearty cakes in town with absolute dedication and passion at an affordable price and portion. Kitchen is closed and focusing on baked goods.
Stumbled upon this niche little bakery during my earlier years which used to have a small kitchen menu selling local "Penang" delights with a heartfelt touch of "being home". Sadly, due to the shortage of manpower, they have shifted their focus to baking since December 2024.
There is a wide variety of cakes that use authentic and natural ingredients which is just easy for the stomach and doesn't tire you out with digesting all those additives. When chempedak or jackfruit is in season, the entire outlet will be brimming with the fragrance of the fruit, slowly ripening and releasing those sweet tasting esther. Do not mistake their chempedak crumble and chempedak cake, while one has a more gritty and crunchy texture and the other a smoother one, both are just delicious. Cakes are sweeten to perfection, borrowing natural sweetness from both fruits or natural sweeteners which won't leave you a cloying taste of sweetness or feeling thirsty. When it comes to cream, it is just light and refreshing. The fruity drizzle or zest has that amazing effect adding acidity which works in perfect harmony. A variety of teas and freshly grounded coffee is available. Self service drinking water is available besides the speaker. CNY baked goodies are also available when they are in season.
The interior is just oozing with cosiness and warmth. You can enioy proper food without the harsh noises that are a norm in most cafes.
The owner (Nely) is still as spry and humbly confident with her baked products. Never will she let you down with suggestions. All that baking and sourcing of ingredients does wonders for her overall health.

First impression after the first bite of the cempedak crumble; it was so freaking good I was about to cry. I mostly practice a clean eating routine, keeping the gut microbiome flourishing with wholesome, nourishing elements; it's an elimination of almost zero processed goods with a primitive living philosophy. So when it comes to an occasional indulgent moment, you best believe that I try my very best to do my meticulous research on eateries which serve foods that I genuinely miss or crave for; from people's comments on fb groups to google reviews, coupled with a trust in intuition - my goal is to avoid let down as much as I could. And this place makes my delicate, unusual moments filled with bliss.
This is an endearing, cozy spot that serves palatable cakes of vintage recipes; The grandma's flavors. The reminiscence of good ol' days. The childhood memories but with a levitating touch. It's for the ancient souls who would appreciate an immersive, welcoming, and multi-layered tasting experience. The cempedak crumble had a sticky, warm, and delicious texture that clung to the fork; each bite offered a comforting grace of gooey, rich sweetness that's delightful to the taste buds. My honest opinion is it was the best 古早味 cake I've ever tried thus far.
Savour a slice of the past - a grandiose masterpiece with flavors that felt like a warm hug from your loved...
Read more1st time visit via friends reco on Friday afternoon. There is an open parking space diagonally opposite the painted yellow cafe. The place is warm and cosy. They have some good variety of cakes. From classic Carret, Banana, Lemon, Yam, Mable, Apple Crumble, Kaya, Coffee, Tiramisu, Rum & Raisins, to different Cheesecake, to Durian and Chempedak. We choose 1 Tiramisu, 1 Rum & Raisins, 1 Strawberry Cheesecake with a pot of Ginger Lemon tea. The friendly lady staff reminded us that the Rum in Tiramisu and R&R is a bit strong. It's advisable to drink more water. Well, the R&R tastes just nice for us, not too strong, not too sweet. For the strawberry cheesecake, the cheesecake layer is just nice, but the strawberry layer is too sweet for us. Lastly, the Tiramisu. The Rum is really strong. We need to eat bit by bit slowly with the tea in order not to get drunk 😂 (just kidding). The pot of tea is the correct choice for us to go with the cakes. Total bill come to RM70+. Really enjoy it. P/S : they only accept cash or e-wallet, so make sure you get...
