We were here on the 9th of January. The food was alright presentation-wise, a little disappointing taste-wise; but nothing to rage write a google review over. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. Not only were the entirety of the staff extremely loud (ruining the otherwise nice ambience of the place), the main lady who served us was unresponsive and seemed bothered by our questions. We asked for recommendations on pasta, and she was so reluctant to engage. Her answers were basically one-word responses like “creamy” or “sour.” There was no effort to promote the dishes or even provide a helpful suggestion. Her attitude felt like “just order if you want, otherwise leave” — very unwelcoming.
When we asked if we could add something for takeaway, she didn’t even acknowledge us — no nod, no response, just walked away.
We ordered three mains, two drinks, and a pasta to take away, and the prices weren’t cheap — around 25-35 ringgit per main. The portion sizes were huge, which would’ve been great if we’d known in advance, but we couldn't finish the food. So, naturally, we asked for takeaway containers. They handed us a flimsy cardboard one, which was completely unsuitable for the wet dishes (like pasta and salad). We asked for two more containers since there were three of us, and she came back with just one more — seriously? We were each left with a lot of food and clearly needed better packing options, but she didn’t care.
What really frustrated us was the way the kitchen staff stared at us while we packed our food. They didn’t offer any help or bring additional containers. When we finally gave them a glare, they disappeared into the back, as if they knew what they were doing was wrong.
We were polite and patient, yet we were treated like an inconvenience. This was our first and last visit. Unless there’s a significant staff change, we won’t be coming back and you should probably think twice before coming here unless you decide that the average food is really worth the terrible service and blatant disrespect.
Reading through the other google reviews says a lot as well - a significant number of 1-star ratings seem to be complaining about the service, and yet there hasn’t been any change, even though some of them are over A YEAR old!! In fact, I personally know of at least 5 separate groups of people who have been keen to try the place, but they’ve all been turned off by our experience and will be telling their friends not to come as well. Utterly...
Read moreOverall: Best juice in town with a relaxed vibe. Food: It's mainly a juice/smoothy bar. The drinks here are really excellent, delicious fresh cold-pressed juice. Because they make so much the fruit is usually ripe so the taste is great. Their smoothies are excellent as are the milkshakes make with real fruit. They have a food menu - mostly breakfast and some snacks. I haven't tried yet but looks delicious. Veggie friendly: Yes. Price: Fairly standard since this is a tourist area close to the heart of town. A juice will cost you 10-15, a smoothie or milkshake 15-20. That is a little high compared to a street vendor (who might charge 5-10 for a juice). However the quality is great and its a nice place to sit. I think the price is good. Service: Excellent. Quick, smiley and friendly. You have to order at the counter, but someone will come and see you when you arrive with a menu. Atmosphere: Clean, cool and quiet. Modern decor. Bright and airy. A peaceful vibe. Sometimes people are here working or just relaxing out of the hear. They have chairs and a sofa. Location: Just opposite China House. Really close to Armenia street. Perfect for a cool drink after selfies and shopping. Amenities: This is where they lose a star. There are toilets out the back, but they are below standard. The cafe has just been renovated and looks great. However the toilets are a but run down. They also have some cats out the back and there is a smell of kitty litter in the toilets. Clean up the toilets, get a proper sink and this is a 5 star place. Must try: Strawberry milkshake or any cold pressed juice. Recommendation to management: (1) Sort the toilets out. I know it costs money, but that should be the next priority. (2) Work on a 'gimmick'. You are in a great area with lots of tourists, but with China House across the road, you have big competition. Maybe expand your games collection, this will help bring...
