The Chicken Rice Shop 1st Avenue Mall — Restaurant in George Town

I had a very unpleasant experience at this chicken rice shop. Firstly, the food was served cold – the rice was hard, and the chicken felt like it had been sitting out for hours. To make things worse, the shop was full of cockroaches crawling around the walls and even near the food counter! It was absolutely disgusting and unhygienic.

The customer service was also terrible. The staff were rude, ignored us when we tried to ask questions, and acted like they didn’t want to be there. There was no effort to make the dining experience welcoming or clean.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If you care about hygiene, quality food, and basic customer service, stay away from this shop. Needs serious improvement or a visit from health authorities.

As a tourist, I liked the steamed chicken in this shop...Servers in general is ok except some of them don't understand English well enough to respond n they just walked away after I asked them my request/ question.Basic customer service training is not there. Female manager is very good to respond to customers needs. Even offered me to go back for a free meal when I complained the steamed chicken at regular menu $12.90RM portion is less than half plate of what I had eaten for lunch combo $10.90RM..only had 5 pieces chopped chicken n full of bone n no meat. I went to TCRS 1St Avenue during lunch time. My phone was having internet problem to retrieve data. So, I couldn't order using QR code that provided to me. Therefore, I asked one of the staff (the guy with black vest, which I assumed as supervisor). I told him that I have problem with internet, so I ask permission to use the wifi from TCRS but he refused and said no. So, I went back to my table and try to retrieve my internet data again, yet failed again. That staff didn't even bother to come asked me or even take order by manual. I was so frustrated and I really hate the service like this. I just walked out from that outlet. To TCRS, please let people use your wifi if you're insist to use...
