Umi Restaurant — Restaurant in George Town

We ordered 3 dishes and after waiting for 45 minutes, only one dish was served. We noticed other tables who arrived later than us have already had all their food served i.e full table. The restaurant wasn’t even crowded. We were later informed that one of the dish was not available and was asked if we could change our order, after 45 minutes of waiting!! We canceled our order and paid only for our drinks. It’s such a shame because the restaurant had really nice deco and I saw the plates, dishware used (from other customer’s tables) were similar to what most Malay kampung/elder generation used. Went there on 27th March 2022. Poor service. Poor cleanliness. Rude staff. Over price.! Ordered Cencaru Pais, Asam Pedas, Sambal Squid. Food taste awful. Cencaru Pais not even look like a Pais. Take a look at the portion of the vegetable, just one spoon. Squid more look and taste like a rubber band. The cleanliness is zero. The syrup all over the palm. No greetings from the staff.
