Da Napoli Cafe — Restaurant in Johor

It was packed when we arrived and thankfully, there was a table available for us. We placed our order online and waited long for our food to be served. While the food was delectable, it was unfortunate that our dining took over 2 hours for 3 mains, 2 sides and 1 dessert to complete. Looking at the mall mural, it was literally one meal at a time. We felt we were served similar to Chinese banquet dinner, one dish at a time.

The 4 cheese pizza came about 30mins later and it came with a honey sauce which complemented the pizza well. This is a must try. However, we were not served any cutlery nor serviettes. We thought maybe it was pizza and we should just eat using our hands. 50mins after our order, our 2nd dish arrived; the carbonara pasta. We had to ask for cutlery and the server had to go to kitchen to wash and dry the cutlery. We were shocked that the restaurant didn’t cater more than enough for diners. The cream was very minimal and it didn’t look like the typical carbonara we usually have. It still tasted good.

One can pass the chicken parmigiana. It wasn’t well executed. The roasted pumpkins had nice presentation but it was alright for me. Overall, food was still Pleasant and I will come back for the pizza only. The lemonade at RM7.90 was too pricy for a small glass served. Avoid it. Better off with a soft drink at RM4. The servers were actually very polite and friendly. We were the last ones to leave due to the slow rate of food served. We could hear the superior very loudly giving the staff a debrief. I came to this shop for the second time with high hopes, eager to relive the incredible dining experience I had on my first visit. The pizza was perfectly cooked, and the spaghetti was full of rich, flavorful sauce. I couldn’t stop raving about the food to friends and family, so naturally, I was excited to come back.

However, this time around was a complete disappointment. As soon as I opened the menu, I noticed a note stating that the sauces had changed due to supply issues. I was a bit concerned but decided to give it a try, hoping the quality would remain the same. Sadly, that was far from the case.

The new sauces were a total letdown. The pizza, which I once loved, tasted bland and lacked the freshness I remembered. The spaghetti, once rich and satisfying, was now a pale imitation of its former self. The flavors were off, and it was clear that the quality had taken a serious dive.

I was shocked at how drastically things had changed. It's truly frustrating when a place that once served amazing food suddenly goes downhill. What made it worse was that there was no acknowledgment or apology from the staff about the drop in quality. They acted as if everything was just fine when it clearly wasn’t.

This experience left a bad taste in my mouth—literally and figuratively. I expected so much more, especially after such a fantastic first visit. Unfortunately, this is the second and definitely the last time I’ll be coming here. I can’t see myself returning to a place that let me down so thoroughly. Truly...

I came here twice. This place never disappointed me once. First time, me and my family ordered the aglio olio pasta, carbonara pasta and beef pepperoni pizza. The aglio olio was a little oily for my mom, the carbonara was cheesy and delicious, while the pizza was outstanding. Last time my dad wasn't here to try it, so next month we came here again, and ordered a TON of food. First up, we ordered a small bowl of pumpkin soup,mushroom soup ,fries and honey soy chicken wings. The mushroom soup was creamy and delicious, and the little mushroom bits added a nice texture. I was a bit skeptical about trying pumpkin soup at first because I usually don't like pumpkin, but boy oh boy was the soup good. The honey soy wings were crispy, juicy and delicious, the honey soy sauce added a sweet, umami taste to the wings. The fries had a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior, you can't mess up with some good fries. For our main dishes, I ordered the aglio olio because I didn't get to try it last time I was there, my dad and mom shared a margharita pizza, and my brother ordered the Hawaiian pizza. The aglio olio was soooooo good, perfect Al dente pasta, and the prawns on the side was cooked to perfection. Both the pizzas were absolutely delicious, and we all loved it.
