% Arabica is about love for coffee, design, and seeing the world.

The story begins in Tokyo, Japan. Being raised by parents who were enthusiasts of a universal language called ‘’Esperanto”, the owner would travel abroad every summer to attend a “World Esperanto Congress” held in different countries.  His father was the owner of a manufacturing and trading company, and together with his frequent business trips, they would go overseas whenever possible – ultimately helping to inspire ove of multiculturalism, design, and architecture.

Through experiencing different cultures, seeing rich and poor people, happy and unhappy people, which started to wonder who, and asked what kind of life to live?

After high school graduation, he moved to California for college. Settled into a snug apartment in Venice Beach and indulged in the unique fusion of beach hippie culture.  It was during college years that his love for coffee started. In 1990’s, Starbucks began to expand throughout the country, capturing with their new coffee culture and serene atmosphere. He spent lots of the days at the Starbucks in Venice Beach, either talking with friends or studying.

Upon graduating from college, he started work for a trading company, which allowed me to travel overseas for business.  A lot was learned from working closely with business owners around the world; which gained valuable insights as per their mindset towards work and life. And although most of were very wealthy, and found that some were happy.

So to create the best coffee possible, he borrowed money and bought a coffee farm in Hawaii and also started trading green beans from around the world and became the sole-exporter of a Japanese roasting machine along with the distributor of one of the best espresso machines in the world. Then in September 2014, the opened the flagship store in the beautiful historic city of Kyoto, Japan.

The dream is to grow % Arabica across unique lands and cultures of the world, so that all can “See the World Through Coffee.”

The cashier was super rude and has zero customer service. She told me that I will have to wait for 15 minutes as they are calibrating the machines. I asked if it’s the same for soft serve and she said yes. Then I said okay I can wait and I was about to order. Then she asked if we (was with a few friends) were paying together or separate. I asked, why is there any offers? She repeated the question again “are you paying together or separately “ without answering. Then I just said separate and ordered my soft serve. After paying she handed the receipt and said we will call this number. I said okay I will come back shortly since it’s a 15 mins wait. She insisted no we will call the number please wait there (pointing at the waiting area). I said since it will take time I’ll be back. But no again she repeated the same to wait there. Fine then my friends was about to order her drink and asked is the Spanish latte sweet. She asked my friend back “do you want it sweet?” My friend said no I was just asking what’s the usual taste? Is it sweet? She rudely said “no my question is do you want sugar or not?” My friend just got annoyed and ordered her drink. How can the cashier speak like that to your customer? So disappointed in the customer service. Please coach her to not speak like this to...

During my visit to Pavilion Mall in Kuala Lumpur, I had the pleasure of stopping by % Arabica, a renowned coffee shop. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The minimalist, stylish decor added a touch of sophistication to the overall ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a coffee break while exploring the mall. ☕️

The baristas were incredibly skilled and friendly, taking the time to explain the different types of beans and their origins. I opted for a Spanish Latte, and it did not disappoint! The coffee was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, highlighting the high quality of the beans used. The presentation was also top-notch, with intricate latte art that was almost too beautiful to drink. 😍

What truly sets % Arabica apart is their commitment to excellence and attention to detail. Every aspect of the experience, from the service to the taste, was meticulously curated to ensure a memorable visit. As a coffee enthusiast and traveler, I highly recommend % Arabica to anyone visiting Pavilion Mall in Kuala Lumpur. It’s the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy a world-class cup...
