BAAN26 — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Baan26 is beside Loco in Changkat, opposite of Gravy Baby. There is a couple of places that you can park, beside Havana it's like jockey service (rm10). I like to park at Park Royal Residences (rm5 per entry after 6pm) and it's indoor parking but you have to walk all the way up the road and you will reach Rabbit Hole on your left. Up the road towards Rabbit Hole, you can park by the roadside but depending on the illegal attendants, could be rm10/rm20.

Hot Lemongrass Ginger Tea (rm12); pekat with dry aftertaste.

3 Pints Package (rm72); sour aftertaste, watered down. Had to complaint to the waitress to get her to change a new batch. It was slightly better but still not as refreshing as it should be.

Mieng Kam (rm26).

Raw Shrimp Fish Sauce (rm40).

Kangkung Belacan (rm25); pretty good.

Pandan Chicken (rm29).

Plain Omelet (rm19).

Mango Sticky Rice (rm20).

Spicy Tomyam Prawn Soup (rm43); prawns are abit soft (shell kinda stick to flesh), tomyam kinda too sweet.

Spicy Tomyam Seafood Soup (rm43); prawns are abit soft (shell kinda stick to flesh), tomyam kinda too sweet. Squid slighty mushy.

Lime & Chilies Seabass (rm61); the gravy is nice but fish kinda small/lack of flesh.

BBQ Squid (rm38); pretty good but the texture can taste abit of mushiness.

It's not the cheapest Thai restaurant and the taste/quality of food is not worth the pricey tag. Some dishes are without comment because i did not taste them but i include the pricings so you can have a look at...

The first time I came to this restaurant was 11 years ago, back in 2012, and to date, I can say it is still the best Thai food in KL. I may be biased as I am accustomed to their cooking taste, but I can assure you they have the most authentic Thai food.

Both clear and red Tomyum soup in this place is marvelous. My favorites are tofu Sanrod, yam popiah, steamed fish, pandan chicken, and cashew nut chicken. I've tried many other dishes, and most of them are good. The desserts, especially red ruby and jackfruit, are delicious. This restaurant and bar serve no pork, but they serve alcohol.

The price point is a bit high due to the locations, but the quality is top-tier. The only thing that I hope they can improve is their Thai Iced tea. It's very diluted and tastes so-so. Other than that, this place is amazing. They can cater to big groups, and it can get busy sometimes, especially during dinner. They also have a lunch set menu with reasonable prices. This place is really a very nice place to have great Thai food and drinks. Chill with your colleagues or friends.

I have always loved the food here. Today was no exception. TomYum seafood, Thai Chicken Green curry and Mango Catfish salad.. would have ordered more if we had more mouths to share the amazing food.

The TomYum had the right amount of heat and the soup was well balanced with just the right touch of sour, sweet and salt. Ingredients were fresh and Prawns succulent.

The green curry was creamy and chicken pieces tender.

The mango with the crispy catfish salad was yum. Not too sour as well.
