Finally got a chance to visit this original shop which sells the legendary cheesecake. Have actually tried it before at Lot 10 and now to the original shop. Visited on a weekday evening and the place wasn't crowded. The space is not small but then the seats are very limited. There isn't much to choose from as well, but people usually come here for the cheesecake, especially the original flavour. Also saw something special which is the Shu Creme and decided to get one to try as well. For the drinks my friend got a flat white while I got a Pina Lima. Firstly, had to say enjoyed the drink. It was very refreshing but too bad and little small bottle. Was so good almost wanted to get another bottle. Probably it's really the best pineapple juice in the galaxy as described. Next came the cheesecake. I have tried before and I loved it now got the chance to have it again. Though wanted to try the matcha or the chocolate one but ended up still getting the original one. The cream and the cake really complemented each other perfectly. Last but not the least the Shu Creme. The puff was not bad but the cream was definitely the highlight. It was rich and could see the vanilla seeds in the cream. Not sure if this is also available in Lot 10 but this is a definite must try here. Loved the ambience of the shop, the cheesecake are so mysterious they are hidden and not on display. Heard this is a hip place which is crowded on weekends and hard to find parking so do make plans accordingly. Would love to visit again and try the...
Read moreMy oh my. This place is a gem! I love how simple their menu is. Loooove the cheesecake a LOT. we tried the original and chocolate. I think these cheesecakes are best for sharing. Eating 1 slice per person can make it feel a bit jelak because it's rich and heavy. The chocolate cheesecake is sweeter and has a deep chocolate taste; but it's balanced out with the berry sauce and cream.
My benchmark is tokyo restaurant's (lot 10) burnt cheesecake. But I think this is more rich and the cake slice is bigger. It's now priced at rm 21.25 for original. But it's the price I'm willing to pay for because of the spectacular taste and quality.
Appreciate the free refillable drinking water. The waitresses were friendly too. Thanks for the good service!
Cons: parking might be hard to find. It's roadside parking. Went on a Saturday around 130pm. The door, although it looks aesthetic; isn't a very practical choice because of the sliding mechanism and its weight. I saw the waitresses struggling to carry food on both hands and having to open the door to serve customers sitting outside.
Would definitely recommend this to others!
Additional note: there's a wholesale flower shop named Flotistika nearby which I love visiting. If you're in the area go check it out and have a look there. Pretty fun if you appreciate fresh flowers with...
Read moreAfter craving the cheesecake for so long, I have decided to pay BASK a visit, located at Bangsar.
Must try their original basque cheesecake as well as matcha cheesecake - the matcha one reminds me of Hvala’s genmaicha ice cream!
Lo and behold, give their coffee a try too. Wasn’t expecting their coffee to taste good but it turned out better than we thought! The Iced Latte had a good proportion of coffee : milk, hence it didn’t taste too milky as any cafes would prepare. You could taste the beans even when you’re sipping on it, it’s really amazing. 🤩 coffee lovers will definitely enjoy it.
We ordered a cup of mocha as well. The cacao used for mocha was legit and was slightly on the bitter side - this drink will definitely appeal to dark chocolate lovers!!
A very good place to catch up with someone over a dessert place, any time...
